Elizabeth 450
I think it's about them giving Apple exclusive rights to an album for a full week. If companies start doing this, then it's going to make Apple's iTunes a monopoly. By teaching them a lesson, and make the companies "punish" they don't sell the album, to say "hey don't do this again". I don't think not selling one album is going to hurt Amazon's or Targets sales, because it won't make that much of a difference to them whether they don't sell music at all or do, but it will hurt the record labels the most. Ahhhh, that makes sense :)

Live4DaApplause 74
Nope, it's clean version. Some user from here bought it from Walmart and it's clean. Then why would they put an explicit label on it... That doesn't make any sense.

miss anthropy 0
I think retailers like Target and Amazon are not the only ones pissed with Beyonce. Radio stations are butt-hurt, too. Traditionally, you release a single 2 or 3 months before your album drops. You push the single to radio, hoping they play it. This involves a lot of ass kissing/currying favor with radio executives and gives radio A LOT of power/influence in the music industry. Radio has the power to make or break a single(and album). The negative side to this is a lot of artists are pressurized to compromise their vision, adulterate their sound, just to fit into what radio wants. What Beyonce did with her album release was like a middle finger to radio: I don't need you guys, my album can go Platinum world-wide in 3 days without a single song being played on radio. However, I fear, and I hope I'm proven wrong, that radio will now take revenge on her by not playing her songs.
brownie 5
i actually LOVE how shes ****ing with radios. They have WAY too much power. Target is homophobic and Amazon has too much power too. Wasnt really planning on buying the album, but I just might now. Way to go B!
