Dance pop artist don't get credit for doing 12 similar dance-pop songs. Born This Way fit together perfect. But honestly, cohesiveness isn't something that's actively praised. People only mention cohesiveness when there is none, like in ARTPOP. Cohesiveness does not mean every song sounds alike by any sense of the word.
