Honestly, this song made me stopped listening to Gaga for 7 months because I was very religious back then (due to some illness I was undergoing) and I thought H-I-M stood for His Infernal Majesty which refers to Satan.

I even considered throwing the album Born This Way away but fortunately I didn't. My brother (who doesn't like Lady Gaga) told me to at least give it to someone else.

I told him I'm not going to spread this to anyone else. :rip:

You cannot be serious.

I can't believe it happened as well. My first watch from the beginning to the end of the Born This Way Ball was around September 2012 when I knew the tour was going on throughout the months. And then I was like

"why did I quit liking her?"

This is a troll thread, right? :laughga:

It doesn't matter if the capital letters are already implied by singing and writing down the word "capital", the lyrics will reflect what she's singing including the word capital. H-I-M will obviously be written in capitals and that is correct. Furthermore, it's H-I-M and not H, I, M because it's one word divided into different syllables. Can't believe this required a thread :duck:

I was just looking at the booklet to BTW (the album) and noticed some strange sh*t - why did she write it down as "capital H-I-M" instead of "H-i-m"? Doesn't it go without saying that when you spell out something that starts with a capital letter, you say "capital R", for example? Cuz I think it's rather silly of her to write it in such way.

When a letter is by itself in written text it is written in the capital, and with quotes. When a letter is specifically capitalized and you are relaying that information you WOULD say capital... but are we writing a check? Are WE rewriting the lyrics?? No. So they are capital because grammar, not nessecarily because of content. Like REGARDLESS of whether or not ARTPOP is stylized as being all caps, you would write "A-R-T-P-O-P" for the final lyric of "Applause."

AND with that in mind her SPECIFYING the capital has it reffering ONLY to the "H."

You are wrong. If it was referring only to "H", she would not have spelled it out but said/sung it like "capital him".

If i were spelling my name, i would speak it as Capital C-O-N-N-O-R because the assumed case is lower case. Like i said... Grammar rules cuz ya know Music Major, English Minor... Songwriter...

In the book IF it were written "Capital HIM" That would be spoken "him" with stressed emphasis on the only syllable (most often based on volume), IF it were written "Capital Him" it would be reffering to a proper noun, implied God because of the biblical nature of the album BUT it could be a lover, THE ONE for example. Now, the booklet is SUPPOSED to match closely to what the singer sings so BECAUSE in a quote to MAKE CERTAIN no error would be made in comprehension, it was written as capital H-I-M.

With dashes because periods would imply there BEING an acronym, which is NEVER  clarified... UNLIKE "I wanna be the Girl Under You. I wanna be your G.U.Y."

Capital is an actual lyric in the song, so it needs to be in the booklet. It would be dumb for the lyric book to just say "H-i-m" and not "capital H-I-M" because she actually says the word capital. It's a pop song, not an English lesson, if she says the word, it needs to be in the lyric booklet. And people almost always capitalize letters when they spell out words in text, such as H-I-M, so that's why all three letters are capitalized.
