freebit 6,240
I think from Gaga's point of perspective, she aims to make every album her peak era. lolTrue, but I was referring more a DWUW type of situation (though after that & EoG, maybe scrapping videos has unfortunately become predictable, lol). Light Years was not just Ok?It smashedSpinning Around and On A Night Like This were hugeLight Years was good, but it's definitely not as good (or was as huge as) Fever. Versace 7,959
I just bowed down to you. Please be Gaga's manager. Even your post is so well managed I can see so much light and hope in her next album. I agree to almost everything you said but if you asked me I really appreciated Judas as a single, it is arguably one of my favorite songs if not my favorite in her entire career. I thought it was risky, yes, but Judas wasn't a flop at all international-wise. And I especially agree to and like the underlined paragraph above. First of all thank you for the wonderful comment ARTSLAVE I too appreciate Judas , I cannot imagine The BTW Era without it . The song is far from a flop but Judas was her lowest peaking single up to MTN which was quite a long time. Since Gaga had a near flawless discography hatters and monsters alike seemed disappointed by it's performance for a second single (lol if only they knew of MTN) so it did seem like Gaga under performed with the song for her standards. In my post which you've liked I explain the concept of why Gaga lost her single power or why she doesn't have as power as the other girls when it comes to singles. It wasn't till the BTW era that we were sure that Gaga is more of an albums artist rather than a singles artist. A song like Judas was amazing even though it's risky and during the era it was more than welcome with a respected #10 position and from an album that sold over 6M copies / 1M Opening week. The point I was trying to make is a song like Judas should be avoided (because it is impossible that such a song could top the charts and we can all understand why )from being released as a single on the next album so that Gaga can enjoy single success like Katy and Taylor. Not that it's a priority or anything just that it would be nice I've also explained this in my earlier post. Hope that made sense hehe : )

Angel Down 2,807
I have this sudden strong feeling that Gaga can at least achieve a total of three/four #1s from her next album while listening to Rihanna's Loud. Singles from Loud which went to #1: First single - Only Girl (In The World), second single - What's My Name?, fourth single - S&M (Remix) It's really not that hard for someone like Gaga to have this achievement, considering all her advantages derived from the Cheek to Cheek impression. I have a lot of faith in her production of music so I'm not going to comment on that, I'm going to comment on just the promotion part of her next era. I think her first single should remain a solo track, and as long as she remains a decent appearance most of the time, it is very possible for her to grab her fourth #1, providing the song is catchy enough and not overproduced, because making sh1tty songs is never Lady Gaga's case, so her only problem is overproduction. Second single, I'd recommend a feature of an artist or several artists. However, I don't mean any artist though, I'm hoping for huge relevant artists like Sam Smith, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce or Adele. You might want to tell me that Gaga is not interested in contemporary artists but you're wrong, that was the case in 2010. It's 2015 now and she's worked with Christina Aguilera, T.I., Kendrick Lamar, will.i.am., David Guetta, and also expressed her interest in collaborating with Britney Spears, plus, she's LADY GAGA, she can work with anyone she wants, I mean it is very unlikely that someone will reject Gaga's phone call. The only person who would do that that I can think of is Eminem. Imagine an all star collaboration, say Gaga, Beyonce, Timberlake perhaps, isn't that a guaranteed Grammy and maybe even Record of the Year? Third single, solo again, but a heavy switch from the sound of the first and second singles. Fourth single, fifth and sixth singles - there must be a #1 coming out from three attempts. I was watching videos on YouTube yesterday and I just realized how easy it is to gain views nowadays:Katy Perry - Roar : 947,000,000 viewsKaty Perry - Dark Horse: 979,000,000 viewsKaty Perry - This Is How We Do: 315,000,000 views (THIS IS NOT EVEN A HIT)Taylor Swift - Shake It Off: 841,000,000 viewsTaylor Swift - Blank Space: 905,000,000 viewsWiz Khalifa - See You Again: 405,000,000 views (non-VEVO account)Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk: 705,000,000 views I was originally impressed by G.U.Y.'s views for garnering over 95,000,000 views altogether considering its underperformance when a top 3 hit like The Edge of Glory has only 86,000,000 views, but it's just the huge market today that's doing the job. Basically what I'm trying to say is that it's almost a guarantee that every Lady Gaga video released in the future will get certified. Do What U Want's video was almost a guaranteed success considering the nature of the video. Also do I have to remind you guys that G.U.Y. garnered over 7,000,000 views in 24 hours? With hardcore monsters like us giving initial support when new music comes out, there is no reason for Lady Gaga to flop. If other artists who don't have a large fanbase like how Gaga has can achieve tremendous success, why can't Gaga? All we need is an interesting thumbnail because we have to admit the thumbnail of a video can make a huge difference of the views it's going to have, Katy Perry's Birthday for example, failed to even get certified because of its boring setting. It's obvious Marry the Night could have gained more views if it had these as its thumbnail: instead of this: or For those of you who value artistry and insist that the makeup and wig and setting should have remained that way, there's nothing wrong with your opinion. But my opinion is that she could have delivered the same message and artistry in a different way, with a more appealing and interesting setting and appearance perhaps, thus introducing the message to more people instead of just little monsters, not to mention when the views are given to the video it will be easily nominated for awards. And recognition is not something bad, isn't it? Don't tell me you don't want Gaga to gain 800,000,000 views. So success in videos is almost guaranteed. One more very cheap way of gaining views is including hot guys and girls, THIS ALWAYS WORKS: Taylor Kinney Casper Smart Sean O'Pry ΟΜG I LOVE YOU YOU'RE SO ****ING RIGHT

MonsterOfSpain 8,318
I don't think Brooklyn Nights is better than any song on ARTPOP. A lot of people including me thought that the song was quite mediocre... it's just like Britney Spears's Perfume. It's my favorite unreleased song, it makes me feel really nostalgic and sad I love it
Gagadonna 10,801
I was too lazy to read the whole thing, but I agree with you that there's no any reason more for Gaga to underperform. Thanks C2C
Economy 49,614
i dont think one thumbnail wouldve changed marry the nights fate. i see a lot of this reasoning here on ggd, like you guys (not the op but in general) will zoom in on one small aspect and act like it was the last straw in the eyes of the general public into liking something gaga did. it was december, the radio froze with 2011 throwback tracks, the video was a bit long albeit brilliant, i mean sometimes it just doesnt vibe with people. especially when youre someone like gaga who takes risks. peopel also forget to take another thing into account... Sometimes a lot of good radio friendly music is released at once sometimes many from known artists Even if theres nothing wrong with a song for the GP, catchy and good... theres no room on radio for ALL songs to become popular, some will have to give... In a competitive industry soemtimes theres no real reason a song or album flops other there simply being too much competition and other material managed to get more hyped Basically im saying, sometimes songs flop just because they flop... its not always something an artist does wrong

Success matters a LOT It determines how many people her tour will get to reach to around the world, how impressive her tours & videos will be, the number of collaborations & photoshoots she is offered, and a lot more than thatI know it should be 'music not the bling' but in reality the bling is needed
