She started off making some good points then drifted way off.

This, tbh.

I get what she means in the beginning of the video and there's logic to it, it's undeniable...at the same time, Caitlyn is a public figure, so she coming out and so many important, rich and famous people supporting her is really saying something about our current society. It set's an example, in a way. It tells regular ppl - ppl who didn't have access to the same ideais of acceptance and human rights many of us here had - that it's ok to be transgender, that there's nothing wrong with it.

Maybe a mother whose son has just come out, will see Oprah, or Ellen or whoever embracing Caitlyn so wholeheartedly and it will lead her to accepting her gay child...Caitlyn is part of a cultural change and it might not be as immediate to ppl as rescuing a boy who has been thrown out for being gay, but is just as important.

If ppl are not exposed to what is different and to what they irrationally fear, there will never be tolerance and acceptance. Simples as that. And Caitlyn is part of this process. So...

And even though she's rich, let's not belittle the fact that it took guts to assume to the millions of ppl watching her that she was transgender. If it was that simple and easy, she'd have done it waaaaay before. And maybe she doesn't want to take all her money and create a fake life in another country just so she can be adopt her female form...that would be just changing a lie for another. She wants to live the life she has built in the US, with her family, as her true self!

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

She is only the second celebrity to come out and with a platform as large as hers, it's going to make a big difference.

I closed the video at 0.40.

She's not getting any support from the Christian community. No transgender person is. No LGBT person is. I'm not gonna waste my time watching the rest of the video and maybe you shouldn't either.

I'm pretty sure she's gonna shame on Caitlyn because of being rich allowing her to have surgeries and expensive make up when not every transgender person can afford that. I hope you all know that is transphobic. A trans person is not less for not being "passing" or being able to afford/wanting to have surgeries on their body nor any make up on.

ANY good trans representation on the media is good. We should stop seeing the differences and focus on what makes us all equal. Ok, she is white and rich and famous. So what? she is entitled to get any support? why are people making a fuzz about her? it's not HER fault that black trans women aren't treated with respect etc etc etc. Cat is NOT the enemy. Quoting Kerry Washington's speech at the last GLAAD Awards, we are put against each other, like there's just one free seat at the table. All the discriminated (black, gays, disabled, women, etc) should join forces and demand equality AS ONE. Fighting against each other won't ever give us ****.

Caitlyn's a far-right republican! She's against equality, she supported Ronald Raegen killing people in the AIDS crisis. She killed a woman in a car accident recently and got off scot-free. She's among the most privileged people on the planet. She does not represent the trans community. Just because she's come out doesn't automatically make her worthy of all this admiration.

F?ck her as Bruce and f?ck her as Caitlyn

she has a point but any visibility that this kind of issues get helps to make it normal.

Not only about Caitlyn Jenner, also OITNB for example. This is what gay comminity did, and also black comunity (the tons of tv shows back in the 80-90s starring black people as main characters weren't a coincidence, that also happens with gays on almost every tv show). I never said that she invented anything, but it is ok to support her just as I would support anyone else that I knew or heard about who was transitioning... but this is also good because of the public acceptance which forces lots of people to change their minds.

Some people forget Laverne Cox exist too, and she has done A LOT for the LGBT community.
