Good for her!

Personally, I stopped paying those exuberant prices to see her live because her shows became quite predictable and repetitive. It's always 4 "acts" with video interludes in between, throw in a couple of songs on a guitar in between the dance ones and in the end there's a grand finale with a singalong.

She needs to switch it up.

Oh, please.

She's the only artist out there that actually puts effort into creating entirely new atmospheric visuals, completely new choreographies, different themes, reinventing all of the songs and doing something physically challenging (that she hadn't done before) for at least 3 performances.

She must be paying someone to write this stuff because there's very little evidence of any of her dates selling well at all, let alone on par with terms like "record-breaking." If I recall correctly, Montreal, NYC, Toronto, Edmonton, Cologne, Berlin, Turin, Amsterdam, Paris and Manila are the only cities that legit sold out and warranted second dates. Every other venue has either only had a second date added because it was already booked (and demand was expected to be higher) or no second date was added. Think about it, only 5 cities in the US/Canada leg got second dates. And this is an arena tour. Second dates for someone like Madonna should be routine. She was selling out stadiums just 2 years ago. I know demand obviously changes from tour to tour and in this current climate, very few artists are doing stadiums, but still. She should be able to do 2 arena dates in most places if she sold out stadiums there a while back. This must mean she can't even get half her audience back, barely a quarter, if she can't sell out one arena date. Doing 2 arenas in France sounds amazing until you realise she played to over 94,000 people last tour. Doing 3 arena dates in NYC sounds amazing until you realise that she played to over 105,000 people in NYC last tour. Doing 3 arena dates in Italy sounds amazing until you realise that she played to over 132,000 people in Italy last tour.

I think her lack of extensive touring is quite shocking. Only one date in the American deep south, just two Scandinavian countries, just one city in France, just 5 dates in the UK, no dates in Ireland, no dates in Perth. More of Asia will likely be announced soon and I don't know what's happening with Latin America this time, bar Puerto Rico. Doubt she'll go to Africa if she's doing arenas. But so far, the cities are really lacking for a Madonna tour. And it must be because the demand is simply not there. I think the fact that she only has one date for the whole of the American deep south but its yet to sell out speaks volumes. I wish people would understand that if a second date gets added weeks, maybe even months, after tickets going on sale, it's because its only just sold out and no more and because a second date had already been booked, there was no option but to go ahead with it. That second London date took literally months to add. It should not be that hard to sell out - London tickets always sell out in minutes for the big names. For Madonna to do just 2 dates at the O2 arena is simply shocking, it's considered a major flop for a big name to do any less than 3. Kylie did 3 dates there and her new album did just as badly as Rebel Heart. Apparently, prices have gone right down to encourage people to buy, which is really annoying the fans who paid top dollar and could have got a better deal if they'd waited. It also speaks volumes that no more Oceanian dates have been added despite tickets being on sale for just 2 dates per city for nearly a month. Demand should be off the scale given she hasn't performed there in years and has never been to NZ. Oh, yeah, and all the cheap tickets have gone. That isn't a good thing - it shows people thought the more expensive ones weren't worth it. It's always the other way round.

The box scores are going to give us the real story. If dates are successful, tour companies are more than happy to add second ones and they do it the instant they sell out. If a second date is added months later, it's because it had extreme difficulty selling. Remember when Gaga's second dates in Melbourne and Sydney took forever to be announced? That was because they didn't sell well at all but second dates had already been booked and had to be carried out by any means necessary, even if they flopped. But when Madonna does the same thing, it means she's slaying, apparently. She's barely keeping her head above water and doing no better than 98% of other acts touring right now, fact.

What a contradiction....

I feel that this tour is going to be thematically similar to the Re-Invention Tour (which is my personal favourite)! :woohoo:CAN'T WAIT!

I thought the same, especially after watching the trailer with the nuns and stuff, it looks like a mix between the Reinvention tour and the drowned world tour (Spanish section). I hope the setlist is good.

Can't wait to see the tour kick off! I think it's going to be brilliant.

She seems to be planning on doing/including some of her lesser known hits, especially from the 90s.

If it's anything like Re-Invention I will be very happy. Hope she does that Whole Lotta Love/Justify My Love mashup.
