Madonna performed 2 nights after 9/11 on the Drowned World Tour. Isn't she not in Paris for another month?

I don't think Madonna (or any other artist) personally picks the arenas.

They probably chose this one because it was the best one available. Even if it was slightly less intimate I think it is amazing that she managed to outsell the arena and hit that record. A big crowd is also a great experience.
