Imagine ARTPOP as a 3 song (Donatella, fashion! and Mary Jane Holland) EP with it's two singles being Donatella and MJH
and prism also as an EP of four songs (ghost, double rainbow, spiritual and choose your battles) with it's two singles being spiritual and choose your battles.
Which one would have sold more? I picked those songs bc I think those were the most ignored from those albums by their respective singer. If my English is bad it's because I'm a Mexican puta.

A better comparison would be to take the three best single choices or songs from each album, make an EP, and then compare.

Unless Fashion! kept closer to it's demo production, I don't think it would have done any better than a PRISM EP? Whilst both D and MJH are good, Donatella wouldn't have done well due to lyrical content and it's somewhat dated production and MJH would have struggled to get plays and is also far too noisy for radio.

Quite a hard question to answer considering, like you said, those songs were all pretty neglected in comparison to the others.

Spiritual by Katy is great though, I could see that doing well just on it's own.

If ARTPOP was Donatella, Fashion! and Mary Jane Holland it'd be called Bangerz.

But I believe it would have sold more + been praised by the media if it had actually been an EP featuring its best tracks - ARTPOP, Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE, Do What U Want.

However, stop comparing it to PRISM. Stop putting Katy and Gaga in the same level.

Imagine this scenario:

ARTPOP:

1.) Gypsy

2.) Do What U Want (feat Christina Aguilera)

3.) Venus

PRISM:

1.) Roar

2.) Dark Horse (feat Juicy J)

3.) Unconditionally

I didn't do that, I'm the best at hating Katy sweetie
