Why is everyone so into her caving and releasing loud pt.2 though? its honestly not even one of her best records.

Because this is a pop music forum and Loud was her most pop album, which also gained her lots of fans.

I agree that the songs released so far are fine, specially 45S and Towards the sun, but I am just so curious to hear "Higher" finally :crossed:

All of her albums are pop albums. I don't think thats it so much as it was arguably her most distinguishable commercially successful record to date. It was an album where every single was on the radio ad-nauseum, as was good girl gone bad, so a lot of pop stans equate that to it being her best work thus far. Its a testament to the superficiality of most pop stans and their lack of individual opinion.

Well you seem very settled into your opinion that pop music fans only love things that are successful because they need the validation of charts in order to like something, and then you use this to diss others/appear better than others. And well, you are free to do that if it makes you happier I guess. I personally think that it is no secret that Rih is a singles artist and most of her albums have a couple of quick lil singles and lots of filler tracks which are trash. If you listen to her albums from start to finish, I think it's noticeable that on Loud and Unapologetic, the flow of songs is the best and those contain the most songs which are actually good and you want to listen to them again, not only a few single-worthy songs. And so that is why I think loud is celebrated.

And also, if the era is successful there are more happy memories associated with it, so people thinking back to the album associate it with good times (from our fanbase, who doesn't associate the AP era with stress? those blackouts and the endless wait for the DWUW vid were annoying, and let's not even get started on the APP mess....).So as the Loud album reminds lots of people to good things, of course they prefer it.

That's how I see it.

Apparently she will have a show in Chile in late September.

She was posting this on her instagram.

The website given on her insta leads to this page: http://puntoticket.com/rihanna

Maybe this is a sign album release is before or in early September?

I can't understand her after "everything is just..."? :duck:

Oh and I read the title as "Rihanna still refuses to give out R8", although that'd be believable at this point too

everything is just gonna hit y'all at once" I think

I totally disagree. I don't think the Loud album flows positively. I think its mostly a collection of equally bland pop songs. Commercially its easy to see why its successful but that doesnt make it celebratory. Whereas an album like Rated R is cohesive but also interesting not only because of where she was at in her life at that moment but because it tells a story. Talk That Talk is really a collection of garbage though sans the two main singles. And im not an idiot, its obvious why Louds success is enjoyed by fans. Im not negating that, I just don't think it makes the album good. Im looking past the superficiality of success and looking at the album itself.

And I didn't say all pop fans, but its obvious that a majority use charts as validation to like something and it certainly applies to what makes Loud a stan and even non-stan favorite. Thats not even arguable. And you can sit there and try to call me out on my arrogance all you want as if that somehow invalidates my truthful observation but it doesnt. And im not apologetic about my perceived arrogance on this forum and it doesn't make me feel anything in particular let alone "happiness", but honestly a majority of pop stans on pop forums are kind of.....ill just stop myself there. If you've got a problem with my personality here I can't help you there, thats your issue, not mine. This forum can't handle me lol

I didn't try to call me out, I specially said that it doesn't bother me if you use musical taste as an excuse to judge others (even though it's such a small part of being human). Don't be so sensitive, it's not like i wanna harm you lol

Where? Quote it. I didn't see it. But nah, don't try to act like youre not coming at me lol you're matching me in condescension. I mean I am arrogant on here sometimes so it is what it is.

Honestly, I don't know why she doesn't just drop the damn thing and be done with it. I'm not even a fan and I'm chomping at the bit for this album. Her fans have been waiting long enough and the longer she keeps them waiting, the more interest that gets lost, especially by the public. I don't think her fans even care if the album is a success anymore, they just want it whatever. I wish record labels would get this into their heads when they indefinitely postpone albums that aren't garnering hits. Then when it eventually gets released months, maybe even more than a year later, they wonder why no one buys it. Rihanna has nothing to lose at this point. She'll only stand to lose more the longer she delays. I'm really interested to see what happens with the touring situation. Before 45S was even released, it was announced that she would tour in 2015, so it was clearly planned...but that's back when the whole album was primed to smash and not be in the mess it's in right now. I wonder if she's already been booked for arena dates worldwide and her team are wondering how she's going to fill them now and they're taking all this time to work out how best to remedy the situation?
