Why was FameGa's Voice So Deep?

Have you ever noticed that during the Fame era and the beginning of The Fame Monster era Gaga's voice was deeper? I've been wondering this for a looooong time now. It's an interesting question in my opinion. I mean, her voice was higher before The Fame and even in the actual album, unless they pitched the vocals on the album which I don't think they did. Does anybody know the reasoning behind this? Maybe she made her voice sound that way because she wanted to? I think that it fits the style of The Fame completely:whitney:

Definitely a conscious decision.

She definitely forced her voice to sound the way it did on The Fame tho. You can hear that clearly when she performs those songs now or even already at the MB.

Maybe she just wanted the album to sound like that, quite robotic in a way

You clearly have never done c-----e. Have you watched Gaga's interview of the Conversation? She said she hasn't done c-----e since 2006/2007. That vanity fair interview in 2010 just paraphrased her interview which is why she was angry about it.

Her voice was so unique and raspy back then. She improved a lot vocally but imo she lost that little touch which made her voice special.

I think its a mixture of this and her voice naturally deepening with her smoking or whatever. It's possible that it was easy for her to sing like this when she was actually recording the album, but by the time she had finished it got harder so she dropped it. Afterall, her voice on The Fame resembles her singing voice on Red & Blue as well. Her unreleased tracks tend to sound like it too.

I kind of preferred her singing voice like that tbh :noparty: It seemed more distinct to me as "Gaga" and all that that entailed; the enigma, the pop princess attitude, everything  TFM came and she could still sound like that at times, but it was definitely a darker record vocally too.

She would sound soo different if she sang "The Fame" on tour today :laughga:

Idk and it lead me to believe she pitched The Fame.

I much prefer her higher vocals.

i like her deep fame voice more than her c2c voice

Why compare a jazz voice with a pop voice though?:awkney:

OT: She probably went through puberty :lolly:

Artistic preference obviously.

I don't quite agree. She sounds different now because her voice evolved over time or perhaps I should say recovered. It's almost impossible to keep your voice that way all the time and even if it's possible I don't think Gaga was doing that.

Her voice was so deep to the extend that she had to pitch Just Dance when she sings it live.
