"thats not Gaga"

well, it is, actually.

Gaga defines Gaga, we don't get to define Gaga.

Gaga is just Dance Gaga.  She's Bad Romance Gaga.  She's also Swinefest Millie Puke Gaga, and Venus Gaga, Mother Monster, and the vulnerable singer of Dope. She's the new york woman with attitude, or the woman puttering around in her California garden in couture.   She's the one deriding superficial culture while grocery shopping with 10,000 dollar handbags.  She's 90 pounds and too thin or 130 and full figured.  She's the Gaga that reveled in being a Gypsy, and also the Gaga with a 24 million Malibu mansion and a NY penthouse apartment.    She's the one who complained about celebrity relationships, but is now marrying an actor.   She's the girl of a hundred different speaking voices.  She's the rock star who became a pop star who became a jazz star who is becoming an actress.

Gaga wasn't getting noticed as a singer/songwriter.   She moved to dance pop and produced a tightly focused image and brand in order to stand out from the crowd.  Gaga played the game for fame and success. "I have the sickest ambition."  Unfortunately she did it too well, and has been fighting against stereotypes of her own devising ever since.

As fans, we can decide which things she does that we like and what things she does that we don't.   But to expect Gaga to always fit in whatever mold we think she is going to, well, it ain't gonna happen.  All of it is the "real" Gaga, or maybe none of it is.  Who can tell.  Gaga changes like all of us change, probably more often.   She gets in her mind that she wants to do something, she goes crazy in that direction until something else catches her attention.   The only real constant with Gaga is non-constancy.

It actually makes it much more fun to be a fan, if you are willing to go along for the ride and not get too wrapped up in any one particular Gaga instance.

Chill.  Mellow out.  Go with the Gaga flow.

You have a great point here, Now I actually feel bad for being so overdramatic about it.. :noparty:I'm sorry.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I agree completely. People have to let go of the idea that they know somebody. You only know the idea of somebody that you have formed for yourself in your head. Whether it is accurate or not depends on how well you understand somebody.

it's difficult enough to really "know" people you interact with on a daily basis.  Someone you "know" through media at a distance and who is well known to put on different guises depending on how she wants to play it at any given time, well, good luck with that.
