LoveandMagic 1,731 Posted May 30, 2015 Share Posted May 30, 2015 Actually If Gaga is true to herself and shows up with quality musicality, lyrics, and vocals, she will gain a wider fanbase even if she pushes the avant garde. Above all the older generations value authenticity and talent. We grew up with those bands uou mentioned. I personally want Gaga to be creative and unfettered, but actually most young people just care about "catchy Bops". I'm so glad C2C era happened (and the Oscars too). Now it's "confirmed" (though we knew all along) that she is very talented. I love the avant-garde-Ga, I love Crazy-ga, Dark-ga, etc,but I also liked Glamour-ga. What's so great about her is that Gaga is an artist and there is so much she can do because she is both creative AND talented (as a writer/vocalist). But I think since this last era (C2C), people won't wholly focus on the "eccentricities" of Gaga this time and maybe look a little deeper for this next era (whether it's pop, rock, EDM, etc). Now there's nothing wrong with "catchy Bops." I certainly wouldn't mind getting another handful from Gaga, but if that's all people want there are other artists that have those in spades. I want (and expect) something a little more from Gaga because I know she has a wide range of musical tastes and is able to do so much more. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with making bops, but she shouldn't limit herself if she has the talent for other things as well. I think that's what makes her a well rounded musician. Now I want the marketing moves to go and I want the real Gaga to come back.It wasn't a marketing move, though. Gaga had been planning to do a jazz album long before ARTPOP was released. I asked for photos in return from the more interestingly dressed fans. This happened in the hallway for the entire two hours of the pre-shows, so I never got to see either pre-show. It was a wonderful time and I was happy to meet so many fans. The blurry pic was one of Gaga's staff who is one of four people who man the BTW table in the hallways of the concerts. That table was crowded with lines of people the entire two hours. What a wonderful thing Gaga does for kids who need help or want to talk or want a photo. Her kindness is without limits.
