You're 70+? :duck:

71.  And I know of several fans in their 80s and saw a pic of a couple that looked to be in their 90s.  Btw, older people are more inclined to be into rock than pop.  We grew up with rock.  And, of course, many are into jazz as well.  People older than myself grew up in the big band jazz era.  My generation is documented by the movie American Graffiti.  The story line is fiction, but otherwise it's a documentary of how it was in my HS days, and the soundtrack is exactly the songs I grew up with ... exactly.

I discovered Gaga because of her jazz ability, and didn't care about her pop at all.  Then, after hearing some of her pop songs I realized her immense talent in that genre.  This scenario may play out the same way for many people because of C2C and the Grammys.  I think her future is bright.

Older people will not be interested for her next pop album.

Pop music itself is the bigger problem in this case, not "older" people.    90% of pop is crappy stuff targeted at tweens.  Older people had no problem supporting Adele however.  Gaga has a legit opportunity to make a more mature form of pop music with wider appeal, I hope she does it.  If she makes another dance pop album the goodwill she's garnered with people above 20 will be somewhat wasted.

This.

And we need to face the fact that imagery like the BTW album covers turn off most of the public.  We like them because we see the person behind those images.  The public doesn't know that person and assumes the worst.  Personally, I doubt that Gaga will go back to looking very weird and freakish.  She still supports bullied kids and LGBT and she still spreads kindness and teaches by her own good example.  She doesn't need the old imagery to do that.

What an insightful and beautiful post Ronk!  I didn't realize you were 71!  I am astonished to realize how wide the range is in Gaga's fan base age wise.  This is simply amazing to hear!  I, too, believe her future is so bright and can't wait to continue enjoying this great ride known as Lady Gaga's career!   :legend:

I also have a feeling Gaga's new image will be more toned down going forward.  Let's face it, Gaga will be turning 30 next year.  She's not a young 20 something anymore so her image and her audience will change over time.  It's inevitable.

All of the changes in her image and artistry will further cement her as one of the most iconic music legends of our time.   :gaga:

I would also reminds every fans in here to actually buy her CDs or digital albums, whichever you feel convenient with, rather feeling needy of someone else aka the GP to actually support her sales.

I posted pics of me at artRAVE in Buffalo, NY here on GGD last year but somehow they got lost during some site reformatting.  But they still exist on LM:

OMG!!  You look like you totally had a blast at the artRave last year!!  It's wonderful to see that Gaga's fans range from tweens to 70 plus year olds.   :gaga:

It was an amazing concert.  I made a video from my seat to try to capture the splendor of the concert but, as many have already posted, artRAVE must be seen live.  My video on Vimeo is here.  On Vimeo it can be watched full screen and HD.

Anyone who refuses to visit LM can find those same pics on my Facebook if you scroll all the way down to July 9, 2014:  https://www.facebook.com/RonkRonkRonkRonk

Disregard

C2C did nothing for her pop career. C2C just upped the number of people who leave comments on YouTube talking about "I never knew she could sing." The people who really responded the most to C2C will never care about **** like Mary Jane Holland or any of the other dire songs that Gaga stans think are amongst her greatest output. If she comes with a truly mature and introspective pop album, she will be dragged anyway, because it won't sell as much as TF/M and the people who supported her biggest hits really just want more bops like they got from those albums.

Angel Down

I've always thought that CTC would save her from the
"basic untalented popstar" title. Like can you imagine how huge it is to have a collaboration with a jazz legend like Tony in your backround? I'm looking forward though to a rock album. She better make an album for every ****ing genre of music.
