Israel/Palestine Conflict Thread

I don't know where you jumped to any conclusion that I was attempting to insult anyone, not least you.

If it's the 'other side posts mostly bias too', it didn't have you in mind, because I've seen you post relatively neutral stuff too before, which is proven by me having 'liked' your posts in the past.

Okay....I get your point now.....

I do post with neutrality in mind, but as pointed out, most of my information comes thu western media sources, so I don't necessarily get unbias information all the time.

My point was that the bias that I read in some members posts alludes to personal involvement.  I don't see this as flippant, but more of a qualifier.

So you compare the European migration to the 'America's' and the subsequent demise of the native peoples to that of the Israel/Palestinian conflict?

Please be specific because the two historical and current topics have no continuity that I can see.

Here's some continuity for you, the US has a very real history of racism based on skin color.

Obviously they won't have much compassion for the darker skinned "savage" Palestinians

The US supports the state of Israel with finance and military.

Consider the fact that the white Christian majority in America also have a religion-based interest in this situation, since both the White Christian Americans and White Jewish Israelis refer to the same "holy book"

So, American support for Israel is 'racial' because Arabs are dark skinned?

Is this your contention?

Just saying, again you've mistook what I meant by flippant, it had nothing to do with what you had said in those posts. It was referring to the 'culture' (so to speak, it's obviously not an actual culture) of briefly acknowledging 'the other side' whilst being quite obviously standing with one side in mind.

If you read my further posts (I think) I mention that personally it doesn't bother me that people are biased or only care about one side, because that's a reality. My point in response to you was simply that it has to be recognised that this exists (on this very thread too) for both pro-palestine and pro-israel posters.

That's one element, there's also the religious element.

There's also the element of Israel being tied to the US and the UK since it's very establishment.

Okay.  Then I was stating something that you see as quite obvious....

What my rebuttal then is that not 'all' members posting information in this thread are taking sides.

Its obvious to me and apparently you as well the bias that exists with some of the members who post here....

Sorry for the misunderstaning

That's why I said race isn't the only element.

As long as the Americans believe the Jews are their God's "chosen people" that's still irrelevant.

They'll continue to support Israel, with no compassion left over for the dark skinned "savage" Palestinians  who worship a different God.

Oh yeah, I agree, but I'm just saying that it's coming from both sides of opinion, not just the one :hunty:

To play devil's advocate on what I was initially quoting - "it's interesting what events are posted by certain members...as if Israel Palestine was the only part doing anything wrong." is equally as valid and that's all that I was ever getting at :emma:

There's also the element of Israel being tied to the US and the UK since it's very establishment.

There are large population centers of Jewish and Christian based groups in the U.S. and the U.K.  who donate and support Israel ...

Muslim Islamic groups do the same in both countries for the Palestinians...

Mostly on a humanitarian level,  food, money, medical ect.

The military support for Israel is mainly meant to keep them alive, as they would be 'wiped off the map' without it.

The government and military aid has multiple reasons, none of which is Religious or Racial... on this point you are complelely off

God. Just saw your last sentence. It's not the same. They are different religions. Not much a like. Especially in traditions.

Jews and Christians don't have the same God or Jews/Moslems/Christians have the same God. No other way.

Christianity =/= judaism

I never said they're the same. I was raised in a strict Christian household.

The Christians do have a sense of "kinship" to the Jewish belief systems.

Jewish fundamentalists maintain that Christ claiming to be the son of God is blasphemy.

In fact, if religious beliefs where the main focus , then the U.S. would be at war with Israel.  LOL
