I'm pretty sure he was being interviewed and the journalist conducting the interview must have asked him about Madonna and what he thinks of her still being active after 33 years in the business.  I highly doubt he randomly brought her up just to shade her.

Either way, it's kind of tacky to throw shade at a fellow artist.  Like I always say, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.  The fact that he had to throw shade at Madonna proves that he is pressed about all the success she's had in her 33 year career.

​Well, I don't think she needs to stop because she still has the energy and the fan base to continue going for a long time.  I do, however, think that she should come out with albums that are more appropriate for someone her age. 

For example, it would have been awesome if Rebel Heart would have sounded like True Blue.  I find it very strange that True Blue, with Madonna being 28 when it was released, sounds more mature then Rebel Heart does even though Madonna is now 56.

He just expressed his opinion and how he feels about fame and thought the Madonna comparison would fit his point, because what she said about her is somewhat true, I don't think he is dragging her.
