Not really.. You pretty much attacked him at first.. Just relax. I am not saying that your opinion is wrong. But you can just express it without trying to make other people change their opinions.

Yes really, especially considering how this is his 100th thread about the exact same topic.

Fixed it for ya.

Can't accept your "facts" when I don't see them as facts.

She had a big hit. But mainstream EDM songs were all over the radio at the time, so were is the influence?

Everyone came rushing to Calvin after that song. Just like everyone came rushing to Redone after Gaga. With the career Rihanna has had it would be foolish to dismiss her "lack of impact" on the music industry. But that's my two cents you're obviously an expert on the subject

Give me someone as influential and impactful as Gaga from the current artists and then call me delusional.

easy. Beyonce and Rihanna.

Actually, the only thing I wanna say, that's completely unrelated to the discussion above: it shouldn't matter that Gaga supposedly has more "impact" than any other artist. Those things aren't even definitely visible until like 20 years from now.

Gaga hates this competition. She still listens to, gets inspired by and adores artists who aren't even relevant anymore or ever were. She loves artists who nobody here knows and who everyone would insult for being nobody or for having no commercial appeal. Just today Fatboy Slim was insulted by many users for saying he'd rather focus on artistic goals than commercial ones. Now that tells you a lot.

Either own up to your ridiculous idea of Gaga having to be the best for no reason at all, or drop the illusion and simply enjoy Gaga's artistry on its own right instead of trying to link it to non-existing "impact". It's an insult to her work and it's an insult to what her fanbase should be.

:applause: ****ing brilliant.

Hell, Gaga did the Kendrick tracks before good kid, maad city came out, right? Only people knowledgable of that scene would have known who Kendrick was. She worked with Marina and Jeff Koons, who outside of the art world people don't really know of. She supports people for genuine contributions and their passion for the work they do. We should do the same.

Yes, Gaga's success, both critically and commercially, is one of those rarest occasions in the entertainment industry. It's not every year, or a couple of years, that there would be a global superstar whose influence transcends their core field. She's a singer-songwriter, a music artist who has left a mark in music videos, live performances, fashion, socio-political campaigns for equality, and easily became one of the earliest icons of the rise of social media as a whole - all within her first years in the mainstream, which in itself is a huge accomplishment already.

When was the last time almost all the mainstream media publications, from TIME to Forbes to RollingStone to Billboard, were in unison that there's a new 'queen' of pop with a talent to back it up? Wasn't it decades ago when the term itself was arguably coined in the first place?  That alone shows how much impact Gaga had, and to this day none of her contemporaries could brag that kind of command, despite of how successful they've become more in the midst of Gaga's relative decline in popularity when it comes to sales and chart peaks.

But contrary to the OP, I've to say that some artists do have an outstanding impact/influence over some areas where Gaga had a huge mark. The keyword here is "some", since when it comes to music videos and social issues, no other contemporary mainstream recording artist has brought more to the table than the artist who shamelessly declared her advocacy for LGBT equality from the get-go, launched her own youth empowerment foundation, and risked her mainstream appeal with an in-your-face album titled Born This Way.
