Kanye West releases statement about censorship at BBMA

"Kanye West was grossly over-censored at the Billboard Music Awards," the statement reads. "Non-profane lyrics such as 'with my leather black jeans on' were muted for over 30-second intervals. As a result, his voice and performance were seriously misrepresented.

"It is ridiculous that in 2015, unwarranted censorship is something that artists still have to fight against. Although West was clearly set up to face elements beyond his control during the live broadcast, he would like to apologize to the television audience who were unable to enjoy the performance the way he envisioned."

European Tv would never :neyde:

Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen

It was a live broadcast so I'm not surprised, the same thing happened at the BRITs which made his performance look ridiculous :duck: Maybe they should air them 10-15mins after they happen so the editors have time to censor stuff correctly

I keep reading BBMA as BBHMM/Bitch Better Have My Money. Tragic. :saladga:

OT: Ok. Sucks for him I guess. :lolly:

Americans and their censorship. How is it offensive to say words like "f*ck" or "ass" on a country like the United States... It makes no sense.

Exactly but America does love its violence in movies and s-x on TV :saladga:

OT: He performed Black Skinhead at the BBMA?

Poor thing.

Though I don't understand why rappers need to use words like f.ck, b.tch, c/nt or whatever in like every sentence. Like where is ur knowledge of more profound words.

its not just US though. Television has a wide age variety audience and streaming explicit language just happens to have negative effect on younger audience.

Why can't he just perform the clean version on TV to avoid this like Nicki does?
