I think you're confusing the fans being lazy with people just not caring about Gaga anymore. It's not secret she's not as popular as she used to be just a couple of years back. She lost a lot of fans during Born This Way, lost a lot of fans during the gap in between Born This Way and ARTPOP, too. As well as the remaining fans who went and stanned for someone else while Gaga wasn't doing much. People moved on. 

There was a thread on here not too long ago asking people if Gaga was still their #1 and most people said no. So there you have it.

Our group has just gotten smaller probably.

AND we are older now.

We have grown up, there's other thinga to worry about. I remember myself when I was 16 and how I was playing every Gaga video for ours, discussing with haters on the internet, voting for stupid polls... now I am 22 and ain't nobody got time for that. And it is nonsense.

 

I still buy all of her music, and of course I vote for her on polls/awards, I do everything but not as intensively as before.

+ fanbase getting smaller / casual fans leaving / GP ignoring her.

That last point is the most important. When she gets all that people back, she will be on top again. Fans don't make a song #1, or a video with 900M views.

Why should there be dependence on the general public? Monsters boast and brag about being the best fambase and sometimes it's our behavior that turns people off from Gaga, Gaga specifically says she makes music for the fans, so it's so ungrateful how Monsters beg Gaga to make the music they want and then sh*t all over it if it's not number one. The fans need to step up and quit using the general public as a scapegoat for everything. 

​If you want to be big on the charts, you can't just rely on the fans. Do you research, its true. Songs only become hits if they get frequent airplay and then catch on to a wide audience.

I don't brag about Monsters being the best fanbase, I don't care about who's the best of has the most hits. I just want Gaga to make the music she wants to make, regardless if it's a hit or not. I support her all the way, and i believe most monsters do. But looking at the ARTPOP era for example, the fact it didn't produce many hits is not our fault. And it doesnt really matter. 

Gaga makes music for her fans and I like that statement, but she really shouldn't in my opinion because all her fans are very different. And mostly, I want her to write from the heart, with an open mind not caring about what anyone thinks, not even her fans. 

Why generalize all Monsters?

I understand your point and I agree some Monsters seem selfish and ungrateful, but that's not me and I don't believe thats the majority. All the Monsters I know are very very loyal to Gaga and have been for years. The ones that beg Gaga stand out more because theyre probably more vocal because they disagree. The ones that think everythings fine the way it goes, you probably don't hear anything from.

Do you think this fanbase has gotten lazy? We can't even get Gaga's music to the top of the chart, we can't even get a number one world wide trend anymore, we cant even win best fanbase awards.... have we gotten lazy?? All so many monsters do is sit around criticizing Gaga and complaining about what she does. People say its Gaga or her people or her label or the type of music she's releasing, is it that? or is it actually Monsters bringing Gaga down because we don't hold her in high regard and show it like we used to?

It's just that the fandom is smaller and older right now. I mean, if I assume that a lm was 13-14 in 2010 , now he/she's almost 20 and he/she doesn't have a lot of time to make trends on twitter. 

About the chart position I find it nonsense. I mean, if I like a song/ album I buy it once. This is not the same for streaming, but gaga still doesn't have a viral hit, she was in her blackout last year when all the streaming situation started becoming really big

Monsters have grown up and gotten to college and have no time for stupid fan voting awards, calling stations, etc, etc.

I love gagz and still follow everything she does but the views, radio, vote stuff is for teenagers who have plenty of time in their hands, not me anymore.

Well, in the end when people feel passionate about her music again, this will change. The loyal core of a fanbase alone can't make an album a success singlehandedly.

And to be pretty fair, ARTPOP was a tough era to be a fan. I don't mean to put the blame on Gaga, I mean ARTPOP has its qualities, but the era was an overall mess and I can understand why some people may have felt let down more than once. I have no doubt she'll do things right next time, she's intelligent and she knows what she's doing ;)

I buy her albums and go to her concerts...what more do you want from me?  I still take part in all those little contests and stuff, but only for fun. It's stupid to worry about something that Gaga herself couldn't care less about.

Casual fans are surprisingly a lot more important for charting and sales than hardcore stans. And literally who cares about Twitter topics.

I think Gaga's fanbase is aging (not necessarily becoming full of middle-aged people, but most of us who stan for her have been stannin' for a while) and doesn't care as much about charts and irrelevant voting awards. She's also between eras so fans may not be checking up on her as often.
