Its mindblowing to me that our country snubs Robyn and Roisin Murphy for the stripped of personality/individuality version that is Ellie Goulding.

I don't carry enough knowledge about her to form an opinion on her as an overal artist, but i do think you're totally overreacting. Love Me Like You Do was generic. However, i also believe she didn't have an artistic control over it as it was nothing but a soundtrack for that awful movie. 

Her latest releases with Calvin Harris are generic but tolerable.

I think she had her moments which she shined in as an artist.
