US is not the only country in the world LOL

I am talking about the billboard charts :awkney:  Dance club songs is a totally irrelevant category.

Living For Love and Ghosttown didn't even entered the Hot 100 and peaked at #1 on that chart, which means that anything can reach #1 there :neyde:

But anyways congrats to the Queen of Pop and Dance.

Well, that's my point. You'll never see a rock fan referring to freakin' charts to justify the value of an artist. And of course I know that mere charts won't convince everyone that an artist is on top, since fanbases have devised more than one tricks to spin around that ("Yes, but Katy just has generic songs that automatically become powerful" / "Gaga just ****ed up her promotion, that's why G.U.Y. flopped" / "Madonna got all of her success back in the day but now she's nothing anymore, so her old achievements don't matter ****"). But, still, my point stands.

Lmfao. I just used your post as an opportunity to bring that up. :toofunny: I agree.

“Madonna’s ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ might better be called ‘Like a Has-Been’…But tickets are not selling as briskly as for her ‘MDNA’ tour in 2012, leaving thousands of unsold seats in the eight North American cities that began selling tickets on March 9.”

I would have believed this a few months ago, but seeing as she's constantly adding shows i find it hard to believe. The tour is doing more than well.

its Billboard's most irrelevant chart lol... its only relevant for Madonna fans, at least they can pretend there's some success around this album and especially its singles...

Irrelevant chart, still there are many other irrelevant BB charts where many artists could get #1's for this type of record and no one else but Madonna has done it... so, it is an achievement! :golfclap:

Well, she still has 12 #1's, the most top 10 hits & the longest top 10 streak.

We are actually not, at least those regulars in chart thread. We know how irrelevant that chart is.

Tbh this chart seems pretty easy to top, but the fact that M got 45 of them is great

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

Last evening, Madonna made music chart history by scoring her 45th No. 1 single on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart. Billboard explains the achievement.

“The Queen of Pop is now unequaled chart royalty. Madonna makes momentous Billboard chart history, as she now has the most No. 1s ever, 45, by an act on a singular Billboard chart. She earns her 45th No. 1 on Dance Club Songs, where ‘Ghosttown’ lifts 3-1.”

“Thanks to all my fans on and off the dancefloor. I’ll (always) be your partner,” Madonna told Billboard. Most of the comments after the article tried to demean Madonna’s achievement by saying the Dance Club Songs chart is irrelevant, Madonna is too old to be singing club songs, and that Madonna should just retire. However, commenter Ted Lopez sees a double standard.

“This is major news, but the mainstream media refuses to publicize it. If this were Bruce Springsteen or Mick Jagger who set the record, it would be on the front page of every website and newspaper. The s-xism and ageism on display when it comes to Madonna so infuriating that it becomes hilarious at the same time.”

Mr. Lopez could have a point. Besides Billboard, only two other media outlets have publicized the major achievement: Music News and Digital Spy. As usual, the comments (at least at Digital Spy) have derided Madonna instead of celebrating her major achievement. Fans note that if the song didn’t hit No. 1, media outlets would be falling over themselves to publish how Madonna is no longer relevant because she can’t top the Dance Club Songs chart anymore.

Whether or not one thinks Madonna is a target of s-xism and ageism, it can’t be denied that the media likes to single her out for so-called failures. This past March, the New York Post derided Madonna because she didn’t sell out all her concert dates in one day — something nobody can do anymore, especially when tickets cost more than $350.

Madonna fans have pointed out that the Rolling Stones still have thousands of tickets left for their tour at Ticketmaster, and they are playing far less dates than Madonna. However, there are no articles deriding the Stones for not selling out their dates within a couple of hours.

The discrimination against Madge is too much

Now I'm feeling truly bad for her

Such a tremendous acheivement and no bothering from media

How about Cher, Kylie, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Marianne Faithfull and countless other female artists whose work / achievements people never discuss? Is that "discrimination" too?

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

Yes, it is irrelevant but most irrelevant? Reaching! There many country, r&b, urban (list goes on) charts that are just as irrelevant, yet no country, r&b, urban or any other genre artists have as many #1's in such

Huh? Did I ever discredit Madonna's success?:awkney: Stop thinking that everyone is trying to discredit Madonna. I am actually a fan. I just don't think that this one is a "great achievement".
