Serendipity 7,821
From Nirvana through to Lady Gaga and MIA, sometimes it's not just the song lyrics that get musicians in trouble Lady Gaga ft. R. Kelly, ‘Do What U Want’ We can’t provide a link to the original video for this one, as it was never released – bar this 30-second clip leaked to TMZ. When Lady Gaga initially delayed the video for her 2013 hit, the hold-up was blamed on issues with time constraints on shooting the video itself. It was later revealed the video not only co-starred Kelly, himself no stranger to scandal, but was also directed by Terry Richardson, who has had to respond to multiple claims of s-xual misconduct in recent years. In the video, Gaga acts as Kelly’s patient, who tells her, "I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant." No wonder then, that an anonymous source later told the New York Post that the video was "literally an ad for rape". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopfeatures/11585580/The-10-most-controversial-music-videos.html Our baby, DWUW still making headlines years after See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK
Serendipity 7,821
Madonna, 'Like a Prayer' Madonna, who has built a career on winding up the masses, played her namesake in her 1989 video for Like A Prayer. The scenes of her dancing in a field of burning crosses already had her crossed off the Catholic Church’s Christmas card list, but the later scenes of her cavorting away with a saint in a church sent the Vatican apoplectic and saw Madonna lose a lucrative endorsement with Pepsi. If only they’d known the antics she had up her sleeve for later decades. See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK

User 352
You can be controversial because of the artistry shock, then it 's good. But it's not good to be controversial because of attention whoring trash and that's what the DWYW video was.The Paparazzi VMAs were artistically shocking but beautiful, because it was genuine and authentic. DWYW video = attention whoring and cheap trashThe people feel what's the ambition. Glad the video never came out.

monketsharona 81,443
Imagine DWUW pulling a controversy on the level of Like A Prayer I resent Gaga because in the past she never feared controversy. I'm pretty sure controversy could have helped her album / single to jump in charts. For DWUW it was like she didn't own up what she has done. Actually I feel like it's the same for the whole ARTPOP era... I just hope Gaga won't do the same for next era, it would be disappointing.

Swan Heart 7,382
I'm actually kinda glad we didn't see the video. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
alternitversion 64
... Where the heck did people get the "you're going to be pregnant" thing from? It was never in any leaked intro clip when he puts her under, and to be honest, it sounds far too outlandish and extreme- even for Gaga.
