The Lonely Island Movie Will Take On Justin Bieber And Katy Perry

Everything really is awesome.

We already knew that a movie about The Lonely Island was in the works, but now we know the storyline.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg will star in the boy band parody that will take aim at pseudo-music documentaries like Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” and Katy Perry’s “Part of Me.”

 

Plot : When a rapper’s latest album bombs, he resorts to reuniting with his former boy band and, of course, hilarity ensues.

The comedic trio has already had success with three albums, numerous SNL Digital Short— who could forget “Jizz in My Pants” and “Dick in a Box?”— and an Oscar nomination for “Everything Is Awesome.” The project will more than likely incorporate all of those experiences.

The untitled, Judd Apatow-produced musical has officially begun production in Los Angeles.
