Still don't understand why Billboard & co are on Metacritic for G#1G.

Personally, I do not care about these critics. As long as I like the music, I just can't be bothered to read other peoples reviews.

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

Uhm, I never hear anything about metacritic outside of POP boards. This is not something to worry about. As long as you like the album, that's all that matters.

I mean, this is a mess, Billboard  etc aren't jazz critics. They are pop sites.

All the specialists in jazz gave excellent reviews for the album but don't count for Metacritic.

just look: http://www.metacritic.com/music/cheek-to-cheek/tony-bennett

This is unfair tbh.

These aren't true.

You both just might have limited resources.

Billboard first and foremost are media which provides record charts from several genres on weekly basis since 1960.

Meanwhile, metacritic are media which compliles reviews not just limited to music of any genres, but also films, games, DVDs, and TV Shows that is running since 1999.

Both places are not limited to Pop genre.

The matter both of you believe that they do are simply because many Pop forums you joined or lurked are obsessed with albums and songs charting more than any other.

So, each websites may just as credible as another media.

It just that many reviewers have bias with their own taste than being truly reviewing things.

I'm aware it's not limited to just music, but it's still a fact that I never heard of the site before I joined POP boards. Everybody just seems to use IMDb to check out movies and tv-series, altho that works with user reviews instead of "professional" ones.

Rolling Stone can be credible. However, often times if I see a review is written by Rob Sheffield I just roll my eyes and ignore it. Hes a deluded Britney stan thats grown up and happens to have a platform to air his ATRL-esque opinions. I can't stand him.

I'll take whatever it takes for the next jazz album to become a betrayal
