If TF/TFM was released in 2013/2014/2015 or in 2001

Ok so basically to explain this thread, I was curious how you guys think the sales/peaks/videos would be effected if The Fame was released 2013 (JD blew up Jan 2014) and then slayed throughout 2014. Then BR was released in Oct 2014 and TFM in Nov 2014? Then so on and so on.

So my question is, where do you think the songs would peak, the videos views, the sales?

Heres my guess:

Just Dance:  #1 (3-5 wks), 400-500m+ views and 8m WW
Poker Face:  #1 (5-10 wks), 500-700m+ views and 8-10m WW
LoveGame:  #3, 250-350m+ views and 3-5m WW
Paparazzi:  #1 (1-3 wks) or #2, 300-500m+ views and 3-5m WW

Bad Romance:  #1 (7-12 wks), 1-1.5b+ views and 6-8m WW
Telephone:  #1 (3-6 wks), 600-700m+ views and 3-5m WW
Alejandro:  #1 (1-3 wks) or #2, 500-700m+ views and 2-5m WW

So? What is your guess, I've been wondering!

poker face and just dance changed pop music and it wouldn't change the music industry

TBH, it would probably flop because if Gaga didn't happen, Katy was definitely going to overwhelm pop radio and charts or perhaps Madonna would still have held her ground :thetea:

Just spilling that truth tea on your furniture you should have probably wrapped with plastic before I sat down :thetea:

I should also add that both albums would have sounded dated if released in those time periods if everything else were to happen the way it did :thetea:

Each song and the albums would have sold less, but they would have been much more viewed on VEVO. Honestly, I'm glad they were released when they were.

Dance-pop was at its strongest during 2009, the same year Gaga's career rose to the top of the pop stratosphere. No other dance-pop/electro-pop single released after that year has managed to sell more than 7 million in the US except LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem and Carly's Call Me Maybe. And both were released before 2013. The views could have been bigger, yes, due to the boom of streaming, but it'd also depend on how well the singles would've been received commercially in the same year wherein R&B and soul were starting to dominate the charts and the airwaves once again after the height of the reign of dance-pop in 2009-2011.

And if we've to base the best performers in 2013 and onwards, there's a higher probability that TF/TFM singles could've sold less, peaked lower, and be unfairly overshadowed by the singles associated with Pharrell Williams in 2013-2014 among other acts who dominated the charts during those times. Critical acclaim would've been less stronger too, given that after 2011 the GRAMMY awards for dance/electronic have been limited to hardcore dance acts, excluding the mainstream pop artists like Gaga, Rihanna, Kesha to be eligible in the process. So if she released TF in 2013, Gaga would automatically be less with 2 GRAMMYs already.

With these said, Gaga debuting in 2008 couldn't have been more beneficial to her, if the aim is for her to capitalise the immense popularity of her pursued genre one year later.

If "The Fame (Monster)" was released in the early (TF 2001, slayed 2002, TFM/BR Nov 2002, slayed 2003, how would it have done? Where would Gaga be now? Same impact? Same sales, or better sales? Peaks? Video views as of now? Also, consider her next albums, (BTW then in 2004, ARTPOP in 2006)

Imo:
JD: #1, 13m+ WW Sales, 100m+ views
PF: #1, 16+M WW Sales, 115m+ views
LG: #7, 6M+ WW Sales, 60+m views
PP: #1, 7M+ WW Sales, 75m+ views

BR: #1, 14M+ WW Sales, 200-300+m views
T: #1, 10M+ WW Sales, 100-150m+ views
A: #3, 8-9M+ WW Sales, 100m+ views

Discuss please.

Rat Boy

I see you like making a lot of threads!

I think it was already released at a good time tbh. It would have been too ahead of its time like Bionic if it was released in 2001.

Wasn't RnB and Hip-Hop bigger in the US during that time period? Honestly I think if it was released that early it may have outright flopped. Dance wasn't bigger then I believe. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

There's no way to know. And let's not even get started on sales and chart positions, too lazy to even read super stans talking about that.
