Any of the defenders in this thread got a dog? Imagine the beautiful noise they make as they get their fur hacked off then left to die.

Oh, didn't you know? If you post a photo of a dog or cat being underfed, left outside, etc. people want the abuser killed and say things like "HE should have to suffer the same fate!", but stuffing animals in cages, abusing them, and subjecting them to horrible deaths is fine because we need that meat for food and anti-fur activists are being too "cruel". :giggle:

:spin:

Don't they have better things to do with their time than to crash Kim Kardashian's book signing?

They don't. They are emotionally very devoted to a cause.

Don't those people in the gay pride parade have better things to do?

The only thing they did was bring more publicity to her new book, she should thank them.

Yes, how retarded. They got publicity brought to attention to their cause. The only thing tragic is Kim's murder fetish, history will look back on her as shameful.

In a non effective or beneficial way to their cause, sadly. They're not a valid force that will bring a new discussion to the table on this manner. Their action was just noise, that's it.

A for the effort.

F for the execution.

How matters more than why in this day and age, keep that in mind.

Running through a book signing verbally abusing someone for attention isn't activism. It achieves nothing.

Don't those people in the gay pride parade have better things to do?

What?

People participating in the Gay Pride Parade aren't doing anything wrong though - the Gay Parade is an organised, peaceful event - just like Kim's book signing. If you're going to try and mirror this situation to a Gay Parade, then the actions of the 'activists' in the video should be compared to those groups who ignorantly oppose Equality and try to stop a Gay Parade from happening because of their views.

Well the protesters didn't do anything wrong either. They organized their protest (event), they were peaceful (didn't hurt anyone). The activists can't be compared to anti gays because animal activists are trying to liberate a group while anti gay people oppress a group

Protesting isn't wrong. Harassing someone (& recording it, for that matter) and trying to ruin someone else's event is.

What those protestors did is in my opinion wrong. I'm not opposed to the concept of protesting, obviously. I don't think the PETA members organised a protest event.. they organised to crash/harass Kim Kardashian; if Kim hadn't been in the location she was, the PETA members wouldn't have been there - they chose to enter an event of somebody else's and effectively ruin it in order to get into the headlines, not to primarily protest what they're against.

With the Gay Parade situation, I really wasn't referring to the intention of the groups you mentioned. I was talking about the fact that both the members of PETA at Kim's Event and Anti-Gay's at a Gay Parade would be mirroring each other's mistakes - they aren't there to primarily oppose an issue - they're there to ruin a group/event that really has nothing to do with them, because of their own beliefs.

In my opinion, PETA's cause is extremely valid. I despise those who treat animals cruelly; knowing that humans do that to animals saddens me. PETA's campaigns aren't effective though, and neither are there tactics. For an organisation whose ideas really stem from peace, their aggressive and blatantly stupid tactics anger me - they don't achieve anything. Put your time and money into really showing the world what happens to animals, not by harassing Kim Kardashian and trying to tarnish her reputation; she's not the reason why Animal Cruelty exists, nor will she be the reason why it stops. Find a way to distribute the terrifying imagery to the masses, to different age groups via education and media - find a way to liaise with the people committing these acts to voice the belief/views of so many. What PETA do isn't that great for their cause.
