Economy 52,864
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/alberta-election-2015-energy-sector-braces-for-change-with-ndp-win-1.3062700 For the first time in History, Canada's most Capitalist & Right-Winged Conservative Province has elected a left wing party, something many thought would be impossible in that Province. While this is just a Provincial Government, this particular shift has huge implications for North America! Besides the promissed tax hikes that will imopact many of North Americas largest Corporations (pasrticularly in the energy sector), the bigger deal is the new parties reluctance to increase oil exports to the US, expand many of the pipelines, and their hint they may raise royalties on oil companies reducing growth Alberta holds about 90% of North Americas currently "recoverable Reserves" any policies that hinder energy growth has implications for all of Canada & North America. Provinces in Canada also have a lot of power in economic matters (bvy most measures more than US States) and there is little the Federal Government of Canada could do to bypass any disagreements.
