Would you still be a stan if Gaga didn't sing live a la Britney?

Thing is, if she's a dancer she shouldn't pretend to sing. Be someone's dancer.

the comparison made earlier about ballet and opera is ridiculous. Its not laughing at people for liking different things... Its actually like going to the opera and getting a ballet dancer that makes awful sounds.

but the adele not dancing part made a bit of sense, no? Don't get me wrong I agree with you but I just don't wanna come off as too prejudiced against Britney. I do laugh my ass off at some of her delusional fans' explanations tho

No, call me old fashioned but the voice, hearing it live and her playing an instrument is what makes Gaga the perfect old school entertainer. I would be massively dissapointed and not pay to see her at all.

:lmao:like they never show her actually playing so this whole time everyones like "wow she's great!" but instead she's just randomly moving her fingers around while a second piano player does the actual notes in the back.

And when she gets bonker energetic and go around to playing the piano with her feet, we'll see some innocent band member suddenly go hay wire and seizure.. :noparty:

Better hope she doesn't go around playing guitar's with her Teeth :flirt:

Hmm. Her voice is important, it drew me in.  I don't know if I would be a fan tbh.

That being said old school Britney was an incredible performer. She never had the strongest voice, but she never claimed that's where her talent was.

Christina was the voice, her songs where written by Linda Perry, but her talent was her incredible pipes. Likewise, Britney had people write her songs but when she got on stage and danced it was incredible. She also had the mind of a true performer, she knew how to push buttons, shock and dazzell.

I'm actually surprised that there are not more professionally trained dancers with somewhat decent voices being picked up by record labels. With the right songwriters and producers they could go far.

I agree with this. I remember when Britney was known for her dancing and videos. I think even back during her Mickey Mouse days her strength was dancing. Most people I knew didn't care that she lip synced live because she put on a great show, lots of spectacle and dances that became trendy. And I'm cool with her being that type of performer.

However, I don't know if I would be as into Gaga if she did that. She has an amazing voice and so much emotion comes out of her live performances. That's how she can make each show so much more intimate, whether in large venues or small. It also makes each performance a little different. I think that's really cool.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I would lose some respect for her thats for sure.

To me a true artist is able to write and preform their own stuff. And Gags gives 120% at her shows and it shows. Everyone knows she has a stellar voice and I can handle that it's not always on point when she is dancing like the queen she it.

I'd still be a fan I suppose, but I certainly wouldn't have gone out of my way to see perform live five or six times.

Well, she turned me into a fan with the epic acoustic version of paparazzi, so....

probably not. I would still enjoy watching her from a distance though

Flaunt it if you have it honestly, i'd rather listen to some pre-recorded vocal playback instead of something that's horribly off-key. I just want to be entertained

Would still buy her music, maybe think twice about her live shows. It must be a very different experience to be right in front of her when she's lipsynching as opposed to her real voice booming out. It wouldn't feel as authentic. It's kinda good in a way that her vocals aren't too challenging for the most part because she might have had to resort to lipsynching at some point if that were the case. Celine Dion, Xtina and Mariah Carey have all done it (I've got proof of this, for fans of these artists), as have many other artists who are known for diva vocals. If you're knocking your vocals out the park on every single song every second day on tour for months on end, you're going to be doing your voice some real damage if you don't do a bit of miming. But it's dishonest, so if this isn't an incentive to tone down the vocal gymnastics, I don't know what is. Singing should be live, end of. If you can't do it for whatever reason, don't perform.
