Rae 86
Negative results with Negative aspirations. What happened seemed like common sense of what could happen and it did.
Whispering 18,865
I wonder if this would be seen as 'free speech' if there was a shooting at a picture of a dead soldier contest. It would have been free speech, but I wouldn't have agreed with that type of rally either, just like I don't agree with the KKK or those Phelp's lunatics. These groups are all protected under the Constitution.
Princess Die 1,864
They practically asked for it What was the point of this event? Muslims get VERY offended when you depict Muhammad in any shape or form. This is well known. Even a teacher got severely punished for naming a teddy bear Muhammad. I don't condone extremism, but come on... Seethe. Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤

Luiz 4,253
so they're both dead. just heard a guy say "shooting at texas is like jumping into and ocean and trying to bite a shark because they're all armed to the teeth" I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Neither party in this situation is right. The drawing was inappropriate and offensive, and the shooting was a completely over the top reaction. It's science, bitch
Luc 4,776
well, you just didWhat the ****?You're saying he condones extremism beecause he said that this event had no point but to spread hate?
Morphine Prince 109,770
What the ****?You're saying he condones extremism beecause he said that this event had no point but to spread hate?I think what he meant was that it is a type of condoning because what if this was about rape? When someone says "She asked for it" they are told they are perpetuating rape culture. When someone says they "practically asked for it" they are perpetuating the idea that people should fear for their lives while doing something that might offend a group of people. If you are so offended by something that you feel the need to shoot up an event, you do not belong in a civilized society and clearly need to be locked up in a mental institution. I don't agree with the contest but shooting them is by miles more wrong.
Melech 9,900
Also Gaga singing about Judas who basically killed the main character of Christianity and Christians gone mad (not violent, but some got mad).I wonder what would had happened if Gaga sang about Muhammad. Some muslims just need to stop being so easily offended and wanting to kill the "aggressor"

Yeah of course you're supposed to be allowed to say what you want. With its limitatioms, in my opinion. And the limit is spreading hate, which is what this event did. I do not think they asked for it, I just think that the US takes freedom of speech way too seriously, and fails to see the problem in protecting discrimination by law. They shouldn't have been shot, but in my own imaginary dictature they would've been goven a punishment, to clean a mosque for 40 hours, and the shooters wouldn't have been killed but instead sent to a re-education centre (jail) for 10 years. But in a Saudi Arabia-like christian theological autocracy she would've probably been given 1000 whiplashes.

If you are so offended by something that you feel the need to shoot up an event, you do not belong in a civilized society and clearly need to be locked up in a mental institution. But it cannot be compared to rape. Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer and Geert Wilders LIVE for this moment. Some even tried to start #JeSuisPamela trending, they want to be seen as "martyrs for free speech". They knew very well nothing could harm them because they had HUGE security which looked more like paramilitary unit. They want more of these attacks so they can continue with generalizing and blaming whole muslim community for what happened. These people sell books and get rich with fear mongering and islamophobia. So you cannot compare it with rape at all. edit: here is one photo FreePalestine
Melech 9,900
Saw that on tumblr: *musical mocking Mormons*Tumblr:How funny and edgy!*pictures of crucifixes in urine and people flipping off icons*Tumblr:How funny and edgy!*a draw Muhammad contest*Tumblr:OMFG HOW OFFENSIVE!!!! Like why would you even do that?!?!? It's so unnecessary to mock someone's faith like WTF is wrong with you that's totally unacceptable! It's a metaphor though. But in a Saudi Arabia-like christian theological autocracy she would've probably been given 1000 whiplashes. But still rude for some even if it is a metaphor. Personally I think that religion can be mocked, no matter what. Believers should have faith enough not to attack physically anyone.
