Yanko 9,860
Of course you defend her, you are the one who agreed with another user that Dark Horse is better than all of the ARTPOP. I would not call that unbiased but ok. You don't need to have superpowers, it's pretty obvious that nowdays dragging Gaga on her own fansite is called "not being delusional", "valid criticism", while other popgirls are protected like endagered species. We should be allowed to criticize them just as much as you all criticize Gaga. What's wrong with messing up once in blue moon? It's not like her songs are very complicated. Someone said she's using it only during acoustic set. So she's not even dancing or moving, what is distracting her? But even if she forgets, she can just point mic towards the audience. I'm sure they'll help her out. not all, i said dwuw is better i rarely defend katy i dislike her vocals and ive said that but dragging her for this is stupid theres nothing wrong with messing up or wanting to not mess up what does me liking dark horse has to do with anything here? Yanko 9,860
For the record, not flamebaiting but Gaga And Tony have used lyric teleprompters too. I was hunched over one at the Christmas tree taping. People use them more often than not.so what? You guys just find any little excuse to bash Katy and that's honestly sad. On tour, you never know which way is up and it's terribly exhausting both mentally and physically. If she forgot the words you would also be bashing her and it's not needed either way. Stop. thius it's time to stop calling people haters when they defend someone who is being bashed for nothing

I'm going to guess that the 88 year old needs the telepromter, and I can certainly understand that! Tony has what...200 to 300 different songs or more he has sung over his lifetime?Plus, the memory most definitely fades with old age. And I don't mean old age like 30 to 60....I'm talking sbout getting close to 90 years old! Tony is an anomaly...it's extremely rare for his voice to be like it is at his age! Having said that, I definitely can see and hear that age is catching up with him in interviews and such. It wouldn't surprise me if he has needed those teleprompters for a few years now to help him out when he needs it. The man is past 80...nearing 90, after all! Spyro 8,438
even I know some kp songs from memory. This is sad. If you claim to write your own music then need sheets or prompters to be able to do it correctly then you're a sorry excuse for a person.I know thousands of songs from before I was born... It's alleged that kp wrote the songs she cant remember the words to.It'd be more acceptable tomake a mistake singing live... But of course with Katy it'd be out of sync if she started lipping the wrong words. So if you write a speech, are you bound to know it by heart? Should we shame those that bring their notes to read from? Well, does it mean they didn't write it? No. It's just sometimes you need something to back up on incase of a memory slip, and not everyone is perfect. Having a teleprompter "just in case" is a good idea, because remember you're performing in front of thousands of people and if you mess up, anxiety could build up and you have no idea how to jump back on and a prompter could help that, because all you have to do is look at the screen. Also, writing your own songs != memorizing them. Also, "you know thousands of songs before you were born" sure, I don't doubt you, but you are no where under the same circumstances as Katy when you're singing them. If these amateurs can handle the anxiety, I would think professionals could handle the pressure. Also, true musicians should always be able to handle jumping back in on a song, even when the forget a few words or even repeat a line. They are supposed to be professionals...the best of the best! I saw a high school kid bust out his front teeth on stage and he covered his mouth so the audience couldn't see the blood, and finished the song. If a 16 year old can handle something like that, I would hope a professional adult could handle the anxiety of missing a few words in a song.
TimisaMonster 31,073
Exactly alot of artists use it for backup just in case they forget, but they don't actually use it unless their memory really slips which is rare but possible. We're all humans after all This is the first I've EVER heard of teleprompters being used by the artist so they don't forget their lines.... Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Does that mean it's ok............no That's why Gaga doesn't do it I know we can get forgetful at times...especially when theirs a crowd, but I don't think it looks good to have that so obvious on stage...like tacky Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! I think y'all are taking pop stars a little more serious than they have to be over a small thing. Spyro the Dragon
