I think his injury was either self inflicted from banging his head on the walls of the van or from falling inside the van. So I think the murder and even manslaughter charges are ridiculous. I think thats just to keep people from rioting. The prosecutor knows those charges won't stick.

There may be convictions for negligence though because the cops didn't put his seat belt on and didnt get him medical care when he asked for it. But I really doubt there'd be any jail time. Its more likely there'll be a huge payout of millions to the Gray family from the police dept and the Baltimore government.

Thats the way it looks to me now. Maybe my opinion will change though after seeing more evidence.

It wasn't a switchblade, it was a legal pocket knife.

Let's hope there's an actual conviction this time. The cops have been getting away with too much sh*t.

In the past 20 years, only 17 officers in the U.S. Have been charged with murder and NONE of those officers were convicted.

That's a scary statistic. Just goes to show what a badge will do with your head.

At least the black people in Baltimore can not say "A white police officer killed a black man."

more the reason

Exactly! Well, there was actually no reason for them to put this man through what they put him through, ignore his pleas for help and leave him to die. What's sad is there was no reason to arrest him in the first place. The knife he was carrying was legal to carry without any kind of permit. Freddie Gray didn't break any law and they arrested him, crushed his spine, severed his spinal chord and left him to die...face down, with his hands and feet shackled, on the floor of the police van.

Imprisoning them for 30-life isn't killing them, it's putting them where they belong, in a jail cell with nothing to do but stare at the wall and nothing to look forward to except meals and showers. That's what you deserve if you end a life you had no reason and no business in ending.

It doesn't even matter which, switchblades should be legal and there's no practical difference between the two.

Yes, it does matter. Carrying a switchblade would have been illegal and would have meant that Gray was breaking the law and could be taken into custody. Since he was carrying a pocket knife, he was not violating any law and therefore should have never been arrested.

Your personal love affair with weapons has nothing to do with this case.

Professionals have claimed that the test results (autopsy?) didn't indicate that the injuries were self-inflicted at all actually :emma: that was part of the original suspicion, because the idea that the injuries were self-inflicted

The second statements strike me a bit contradicting though, because criminal negligence definitely results in Jail time, esp. from people in power; the fact that Goodson was charged with Depraved-Heart Murder; hes charged with acting in a way that was clearly risking someone's life and decided to continue the behavior. It seems like the girl was the least involved from what I've read, but Imo with such a well painted visual of the crimes, it seems clear that at least some of them will receive full charges; thats how I see it at least.

How the f**k does someone who smashed a window have a higher bail and could face longer in jail than police officers (who are meant to protect) who KILLED someone. This is such bs....honestly this is a huge problem in America....
