​But Judas is my favorite song in her entire discography so Judas had to be a single. I wouldn't mind if it was the third though.

I kinda hoped other songs replaced The Edge of Glory and You and I.

Globally, I think Born This Way was her riskiest song. Not only was it a cheesy empowerment anthem that referenced the LGBT community, it also had a very different sound to anything she had released before. She risked her entire career with that song, but she released it at just the right time.

However in the USA, I think Judas caused the biggest stir simply because it was called Judas. The fact she released it around Easter was just hilarious and one of her funniest career moves. It doesn't matter that it flopped. What matters is she took the risk.

The lyrics and Bible references, in an almost explicit way... Enough said about that.

 

But the music itself was the most risky from her too. The vocals from the verses where really strange, not very melodic, and that sort of accent... Definitely weird, specially for a single song from a mega popstar (but normal for Gaga ). It is also heavily produced, as much as any BTW album song, in the most risky way possible (electro pop/house mixed with some sort of metal synths, definitely not the safest choice).

 

 

(and I think it was because of Judas that people got tired of her. And not really for being that controversial: people got bored of yet another controversial statement from Gaga, that, unlike the meat dress and the odd performances and LGBT support and etc etc etc, really didn't add anything new to the world)
