"Police are having a difficult time investigating because of the rocks being thrown at them," said Jeff Small, a spokesman for the city of Ferguson. "At this point police are not sure if the (shootings are) linked to the protest or not." St. Louis Alderman Antonio French posted video on his Twitter account. It would more than sad if their death was unnecessary. I just want all the fights stop (though as the OP stated we don't know why shots were or if it were linked to the protests.) Tolemo 131 Posted April 29, 2015 Share Posted April 29, 2015 So frustrating. The race issue in this country is complex and difficult. I understand the anger and frustration. However, the issue is getting lost. Not allowing cops to investigate is frustrating. Not knowing why it happened is frustrating. The mob mentality is not going to get us anywhere in solving the issues. We need to re-create a sense of open dialogue. That may seem to many as too simple or that the time is over and the only way to address the issues is through anger. I am also not trusting the media outlets in any of this. We need a national movement to demand justice and stop the madness of racism and oppression in this country. These protests are just the beginning, I assure you. We are on a cusp of something, and it's only in its first stages. More solidarity walks and demonstrations will occur, as will more protests and perhaps more riots as more police killings of black men occur, as the undoubtedly will. It's no going away, and as right it SHOULDN'T. Not until justice is served and change is made. I know plenty of black individuals who are sick of the rioting and think people should trust the police more. If it is the system and the policies, we should not be mocking the police officers. We should be saying, "Hey. there is a clear issue with the system that all people are suffering from and it needs to be fixed." Communities of color may be too broad a statement as well.
