Mainstream pop music seems in my opinion pretty washed up nowadays, with basic pop songs about linking someone, searching for someone etc and melodies that are not really that exciting (with few exceptions). Dance and pop have seemed to blend in a way that it became a little dull and predictable. Also the market seems saturated with options for fast consumption and only a few things last enough to become real trends. So what do you think will be the next big trend in pop music?

Rave music

Here in France people of my age listen to ****ing ****ty rave music :awkney:

Really????? In Brazil this trend happened like 10 years ago and lasted for not very long

Pop will be fused with hip-hop.

again?? it would be like the 5th wave of this kind since the 90s

I've said before and I'll say it again

House music is coming to slay the U.S.  :queenga:

It's been slaying gay clubs all around the world since I was a teenager, I'm surprised it never really went mainstream. Maybe you're right.

The trend since the EDM pop phase of 2008-2012 is retro and eclectic.

You get hits bringing back 90's house, 80's funk (Uptown Funk), or 50's sound (Meghan T), but nothing sustained. Nothing new and exciting enough to sweep the market.
