Dorothy Gale 7,575
Wasn't there a performance on TV? Nope, and if there was it wasn't a big one.
SpadesToStart 3,444
Probably not. I think the world was still sick of/apathetic to Gaga at that point. She really needed C2C and the Oscars to reposition herself.
Psychedelic 1,098
NOBODY can know... there's no "would have", only "was" exists... and G.U.Y. was NOT a hit, get over it!
Anomaly 159
You mean if it had any airplay, haha. Yes. I do think it could have been very successful. Ironic how half of the naysayers here who are bashing it now are some of the same people who were praising it and demanding that it should become a single before it actually did. Bad Bromance 5,809
Everyone keeps saying that it wasn't radio friendly and that the GP was over Gaga but how the heck can a song gain momentum and popularity if it isn't played?? I requested the song at three of the most popular radio stations in Chicago and not one of them ever played it! They never told me they wouldn't play it. They just told me they would play it but never did! Radio refused to support Gaga, plain and simple. That's the reason the GP didn't know about this song and hence why it wasn't purchased on iTunes or streamed online. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me. angelduuh 483
Will this threads never stop? people should accept that some singles from ARTPOP floped and that's it
FRANK1991 3,329
hard to say....it would definitely do better if it had more radio play (I've never heard it on radio)personally I don't really like the song, too repetitive for me Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
Klou 2,414
Absolutely not. Its Airplay and sales ratio was off. The public was not interested at all.Gworl, it has like 8M AI. Birthday had a worse ratio and still managed top 20.Yes, it could have done at least decently if it was pushed.

PatrickMonster 6,406
But how do you know people would not have liked this song if they never really heard it or knew about it?there were statistics for the radio called "call-out scores" and they were absolutely negative... that's part of the reason most stations didn't bother to play it... also dont act like it had no airplay at all... with the little airplay it had, it should have been much higher on iTunes... Bradley 59,023
Those who say no are delusional and whose opinions are deeply, strongly, severely affected by the chart performance it had. Absolutely yes. More radio airplay and more decent performances at decent award shows would make it a top 5 hit. Dark Horse was performed at the 2014 Grammys and it was #1, and I don't see why Gaga couldn't do that when she had massive publicity at that time. She HAD publicity, she lost it herself due to poor promotion. The song is a good EDM track and is catchy. Everyone was praising it before it got released as a single. It's just that some delusional monsters changed their opinions after it under performed.I have heard a lot of GP friends who liked that song and it flopped not because of the nature of the song, but the promotion it lacked.
