​she leaked Aura before the first single was out because she wanted it as the lead but Troy wanted Applause to profit on her broken hip & tour cancellation stuff (i'm sure the lead in 2012 was chosen as Sex Dreams then changed to Applause after her injury)

​well actually she literally COULDN'T she said in an interview she had to pay for the G.U.Y. video herself as well as book promo spots for it on radio & the show she performed it on, because interscope refused to fund anymore ARTPOP singles or videos after the disaster of it going downhill.

She shouldn't leak anything before next album. Needs to keep the thirst alive for new music until that lead single drops. She can leak it after the next album cycle is over.

Doesn't Gaga usually move an unreleased song or two onto the next album? Isn't that what happened with Bloody Mary?

It would be nice one day to get a B-sides album or something from Gaga between eras filled with unreleased stuff. Or maybe just put some of it on a collectors edition or remix album. But I guess legal reasons and all. 

I used to stan for this one artist that couldn't release her sophomore album because of her producer. From the way she and others talked about it the album sounded really cool, and the fan base was so mad at her because she wouldn't "just leak it." Then we found out her producer gave one of her songs to a German singer overseas without her knowledge. Supposedly she wrote every lyric and note on the song, but couldn't really fight it because it was an international deal. Obviously that made things worse between her and producer and he was acting out of spite. Perhaps Gaga is going through something similar.

2 possible reasons: 1) Because Gaga wants to move on and be associated with a new sound, not live in the past. 2) Gaga wants to but after the Boris incident, and then with Applause and Brooklyn Nights, the label is keeping close tabs on leaks of her music.
