I don't think "ready" is really the right question,

I mean, according to some we weren't "ready" for a black president, and they set out to villify him from literally before day 1 in order to make his time in office as impactless or bad as possible, despite him actually acomplishing things  

If Obama can make it out alive and having actually ushered in at least some change, I'm sure Hillary Can  Sexism and Racism are always gonna be there on some level, especially from the conservatives  

Imagine if a black woman ran though :air: There'd be no chance  

Also, James Buchanan was allegedly gay (though he was a terrible president )  so yeah. An openly gay one though? They'd be no different from a straight one if they are problematic, internally homophobic and straight acting

If only Elizabeth Warren would run and Hillary would drop out and throw ha support behind ha  We'd have the perfect candidate

​I dont get the need for the face, its pretty true. America is "ready" in the sense that there are enough progressives for a black man, or a white woman, but a black woman would face like 2x the dirty looks and unwarranted racism/s-xism because shes a woman, but a black one at that

America should be ready for anything and everything at this point in time. Change is good. Obama was the first african american president which was a great achievement for our country even though he was a terrible president. If anyone is going to be the first female president it should be Hilary.

Its doubtful considering the majority of American society still holds women in a lower regard. I can't see America standing behind the idea of a woman leading their political &  economic future. Not yet.

But the chances for that to actually happen are higher (i'm just assuming here) than they were in 2012.

Not at all. The Netherlands had an extremely popular far right-conservative populist gay leader 15 years ago (till he got killed for his anti-Muslim comments in 2001 ), and that was 2 years after the legalisation of gay marriage.

Britain had it's first female PM 36 years ago. Australia, Germany, and several major South American countries have elected women. Canada's biggest 4 provinces all had female Premiers a couple years ago, and Ontario's is lesbian.

Hilary's problem is that she will run on being the first women, because that's the most exciting thing going for her. Becoming leader dynastically because your husband was Prez is what you'd expect in some 3rd world country. No worse than the Bush dynasty going for #3, but no better either.

I'm here for almost anyone, as long as they are qualified and educated. 

Unfortunately in the US we still have male politicians that speak on women's issues that don't even have the bare bones basic idea of how the female reproductive system works, and are too lazy or stupid to even google it. They insist on treating women like we are a bunch of simple minded, emotionally driven imbeciles and this is what they base their policies on.  We have a bunch of politicians that still deny women, minorities, and LGBT community are being treated as secondary citizens. These are the same ones that think that the Fifties and Sixties were the golden days. The same ones that question basic known truths like evolution and climate change, and that think Jesus rode the dinosaurs. These argue against science and insist their religious doctrine be placed in school books, that don't believe in seperation of church and state (but only if it's THEIR church, because THEIR beliefs should be the only valid ones - they will readily attack others beliefs). These that argue against basic civil rights by using their warped view on religion as a shield. These same ones that want to deny poor people access to education, that have no idea on how the world works for those that weren't raised with a silver spoon in their mouth. And worse they refuse to educate themselves or even show a little empathy. And what do you know? They all seem to come from the same political party! A political party that prefers that their few women and minority members look and act a certain way. 

So for me, I will NOT be voting for anyone in a certain political party, be they man or woman, judging by their past behavior for the last twenty years and their disgusting current behavior and views. I won't necessarily be voting for a woman on principle, instead I will vote for whomever I think is the most qualified and knowledgeable with a sound plan for the future. I hope it's a woman, and Hilary seems smart and qualified, but around election time I will be really looking into the possible candidates, and will pick the candidate most qualified.

​Most liberal women I know (I certainly do not speak for all) WILL NOT vote for a Republican, regardless of gender. We've seen them in action. Those like Michelle Bachman and Palin are viewed with contempt. The only possible exception (for many of us) is Condoleeza Rice. She's the only one out of the current bunch shown that seems to have half a brain. The rest seem either crazy, dumb, superficial, or puppets (or all the above).
