The sound is strange, Gaga's vocals are strange, and the lyrics are complicated. But at the same time, the sound has one of Gaga's best choruses and the beats are really loud, fun, and euphoric. Rihanna would have been perfect.Aura should have been official instead of a promotional single.Gypsy would have added an emotional touch to the GP.In my opinion, if four singles were chosen:1. Aura2. It basically summarises the entire album concept and it was one of the most praised songs when premiered at Swinefest. it's got such a unique sound to it, making it forever feel fresh and new. Quark 7,098 Posted April 22, 2015 Author Share Posted April 22, 2015 I think ARTPOP is a beautiful album but honestly no songs besides Applause and Do What U Want are even single material, let alone potential hits.Obviously i don't agree with you, but overall, most of the songs in ARTPOP has things that are radio friendly and not radio friendly at the same time. When Applause was first released, many people thought it wouldn't connect with the GP because of its artsy lyrics and because it was a "song dedicated only to the fans". But look at what happened. It is perfect for radio and very catchy.Venus has a killer chorus, but the production is not good enough for a hit. Also in these phase of her career people would have been annoyed that it's so gaga-esque. They would not have understood it and labeled it as trash. While it's so Bowie on a space-70's trip.
