Notice that neither US, UK, or France (traditional activist powers) is in the top 10 highest disapproving of Russia. It's more small left-liberal countries that hate Putin's anti-gay religious conservatism and general regressiveness.

​It's logical anyway. Used to be anti-USSR was driven by anti-communism; now Putin actually has fans among certain right wing movements.  Also the more the US acts passively instead of as a world policeman (Obama doctrine: "Don't do stupid things"), the more people in other countries need to worry about regional bad guys instead of just blaming America.

​Yet Russia has historically always been associated with European culture, matter of fact the European Russian territory has existed as Russia without the Asian part that has been conquered in the later centuries. Why can't Russia be both an Asian and European country? Unintentionally serving bi-s-xual realness I guess.

But also too bad that none of China is even remotely close to Africa. While Russia shares borders with more than 9 European countries.

 Doesn't really surprise me  perhaps the high disapproval of Germany in countries like Lebanon  and the low disapproval rating from Ukraine for Russia seems weird, I think they didn't poll East-Ukrainians.
