My Name is Marie and I was baptized short after my birth, so I was with my 84 years , since then part of the evangelic Church. Why I came to the drastic solution to leave the church community? I have two grand-children who are both homos-xual. We are very close to each other and I see how they live. They are happy and they are living happily in a relationship, which is for years a stable relationship, where they are there for each other. They care for me and help with different things in my day. I can rely on them. They both have a good job and help in a sport club or in the voluntary fire brigade. The statements of pastor Gero Cochlovius from Hohnhorst in the tv show "Panorama-die Reporter" (NDR) from the 07.04.2015 made me speechless and sad. They make a different understanding from love and relationship that I have from my christian belief. To say that homos-xuals are sinners and to offer them "healings" is irresponsible. Especially for young and insecure people who don't have the full support of their family getting through these dangerous statements, like those by Cochlovius, on a very dangerous way. Insecurity? Re-education? Destabilization? Are those christian Values? When people are happy, loving each other and care for the next, can that really be a sin? But to agitate against a specific group is, according to my thoughts, a sin. Didn't Mr. Colchovius learn from our history? Where Jews, Roma, Homos-xuals and disabled people were persecuted and killed? If the god exists,in who we believe, then he created the humans as they are. I miss the "shocked Call" of my church community and the EKD , who don't share the statements of Colchovius normally. Because of these reasons I decided to leave the evangelic church and pray at home instead. " That was the translation. Don't let the thread flop please. I am atheist but honestly I think that it's not religion itself that's to blame but the people delivering the "message" of what christianity should be! Good for her Distorting the Bible to fit their narrow-minded views is what happens usually.
