Just after its official soundtrack hit #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart and the single from it, "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth also reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the year's biggest weekly digital sales, the film 'Furious 7' breaks more box-office records as it got the fastest climb in history for any film to top the elusive $1 billion mark in global box-office gross. With this, it has also become Universal's highest-grossing film ever and the 7th highest grossing-film of all time in less than a month since its theatrical release.

Here are the world's top 10 highest-grossing films of all time:

Rank / Title (Year of Release) / Major studio / Worldwide gross (unadjusted for inflation)
1. Avatar (2009) - Fox - $2.787 billion
2. Titanic (1997) - Fox / Paramount - $2.186 billion
3. The Avengers (2012) - Disney - $1.518 billion
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011) - Warner Bros. - $1.341 billion
5. Frozen (2013) - Disney - $1.279 billion
6. Iron Man 3 (2013) - Disney - $1.215 billion
7. Furious 7 (2015) - Universal - $1.152 billion
8. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) - Paramount - $1.123 billion
9. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) - Warner Bros. - $1.119 billion
10. Skyfall (2012) - Sony - $1.108 billion

In just 17 days, Furious 7 is crossing the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

It's a new record for the fastest climb to the major milestone. (The Avengers, Avatar and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 crossed $1 billion in 19 days.) Plus, the film is the first Universal project to make it to the $1 billion mark in its original run. (1993's Jurassic Park reached $1.044 billion after the 3D rerelease in 2013.)

Furious 7 knows no bounds.

The global blockbuster grossed another $167.9 million from 67 territories at the international box office this weekend, pushing its 19-day foreign total to $858.3 million and global cume to $1.153 billion. It's now the No. 7  title of all time, not accounting for inflation.

That includes an eight-day total of $250.5 million in China, where it is breaking numerous records and is destined to become the top-grossing film in history, surpassing the $320 million earned by Paramount's Transformers: Age of Extinction last year.

In North America, the action film topped the chart for the third consecutive weekend with $29.1 million for a domestic total of $294.4 million. And on Friday, it became the first title in Universal's 103-year history to cross $1 billion in its original run.

Among other headlines, Furious 7 opened in Japan to $6 million, the best showing of the franchise (Japan is the last country to open).

In holdover markets, Furious 7 has now earned $46.9 million in the U.K., $45.6 million in Mexico, $32.4 million in Brazil, $32.1 million in Germany, $28.6 million in Australia, $27 million in Russia, $25.3 million in France, $24.2 million in India, $23.1 million in Taiwan, $21.3 million in Korea, $20.9 million in Argentina and $19.6 million in Venezuela.

2015 is going to be a massive year for the box office. This movie, the next Avengers movie, the next Star Wars movie, Spectre, and maybe even Mockingjay P2 or Inside Out will all hit over $1 billion.

That is so appropriate that it's the 7th highest grossing film of all time.

But I don't think they ever marketed it as paul walkers final film or "WATCH THIS MOVIE BECAUSE IT HAS A DEAD STAR!" Other than that, I think it was well deserved.  I RARELY go back to see a movie twice (which it's that good), but I did for Furious 7, despite me not being a Paul Walker fan.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I forgot Jurassic World :flop: If all of these movies hit $1 billion, then that would make 7 movies grossing that much in a year, the highest ever.

Jurassic World and Star Wars will be huge, no question.

Not a big fan of Fast and the Furious (bored to tears honestly) but Paul Walker was a decent actor. And the soundtracks are pretty good, so slay I guess.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

If it grossed so much in less than a month, I definetely can see it getting in the top 3 of all time. :legend:

Tea time? I never knew who Paul Walker was until he died and every young to middle aged woman's status was "I'm going to miss this man!" :manicure:

And the F&F movies were always plotless and boring to me :toofloppy:

My opinion though. No shade intended.

You're stinky

Dude! Youre kidding right? The people promoting this movie kept promoting it with the hashtag #ForPaul EVERYWHERE! Thats the only reason people went to see it. They were sing his death to promote it. I dont blame them tho, since its been proven that a star will bring more money when they are dead than when they were alive.

Honestly, I never saw the #ForPaul thing.  I rarely go on Twitter, don't have Facebook or Instagram.  And I spend most of my time on YouTube.  So, no.  I wasn't kidding. :sharon:
