freebit 6,240
I disagree. It may be what casual fans care about, but when it comes to stanning you KNOW Grammys are one of the first things people pull up in Stan wars. You hve an opinion and others have an opinion, please be nice about it :)i honestly think that if I wasn't a mod still I wouldn't be posting much. I don't Stan war, I don't care about immature jokes or stuff like that so I think I would just read but not post much. I feel you on this. This is pretty much what it all comes down to. As I see it, "stanning" often requires lowering yourself to a certain level of immaturity in general, like pulling out chart receipts, putting your fave on a pedestal, dragging etc. This could be why most stans are so young. Most of the time pop forums aren't really the ideal place for a regular fan that actually wants to have a real, interesting discussion.
Schwerk 7,243
That's definitely true. I'm talking about obsessed fans though. Like, I am so obsessed that I couldn't be a fan without coming on this site.I would feel like I'm missing something. Why worry about it? There's nothing wrong being passionate about an inspiring person as long as it doesn't hold you back in life living up to your own potential. As long as you support yourself, you can stan for Gaga for as long as you like.Ill be 30 in two weeks and I became a stan at 24. Yeah I'm usually a bit older, but I don't mind hanging out with younger fans, as long as their fun. Same goes for older fans. I know quite a few stans that are my age and up.that's the beauty of Gaga, you see little kids and 90 year old grandma's at her show.Oh and by the way, believe me, older people can be just as immature as teens. The workplace often feels like highschool all over again. Guess what I'm saying is you're as young as you feel.My Stan life Spice Girls10-13 years old. Went to a concert all by myself at age 13 and I cried when Geri quit the group. Madonna12-20 years old. The more I discovered about her, the more I grew to love her. I traveled to see her perform and I watched tons of interviews and was really intrigued by her cause she never seemed to show her true selve. Ray of light was my favourite album. The ones after that just became worse and worse IMO and Madonna started to seem a bit to desperate to me. Hard Candy was the death of my fandom.Lady Gaga24-30 years old. After I noticed she wasn't just the average prefab popprinces I got obssed with her. Shes just so smart, every interview she would grab me more. I really recognized a lot of myself in her and also what I wanted to be. A kindred spirit. We are pretty much the same age so I expect to grow with her through the years. Also I truly deeply care for her as a person and feel I understand her like no other idol I ever had. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
antpats2 4,200
you say that now...excuse me? I am WAY too much of a fan (that fan probably isnt even the right word to use anymore) and Gaga is literally my world. Im not some basic person who's going to leave Gaga when i'm older just because not many older people stan for artists or whatever. I have been a fan since the Fame and i stuck with Gaga through everything and it's just made me closer and closer to her. I know that i will NEVER leave. Bad Bromance 5,809
I've been reading all of the responses and it's very interesting to see the different points of view that people have about fandom. I'm quite older than all of you. Perhaps the oldest member on this site! I don't feel awkward at all coming to this fan site because I like to interact with all different kinds of people. The more unique a person is, the more I like to learn about them. Sure, there are times when some members here make very insensitive comments or are quite rude when they interact with other members, but I don't let that get to me. I just roll my eyes and continue to enjoy interacting with all of you. I love you guys! As much as you all argue with one another, deep down you all love one another or you wouldn't be committed to posting or replying to anything on this site. We truly are an awesome fan base and an amazing community! Let's keep Gaga Daily alive!! I don't care what you think about unless it is about me. llbcherry 591
"Might be" older users? I'm 30. Been here since '09. I just have to work and stuff. I get pretty active during new album times. But yeah, if anyone should feel too old for this site, it's Me! Oh well.

Ronk 14,762
Gaga has many older fans like myself, but this site does not draw many of them. Most I have found on facebook, twitter, LM, instagram, and other sites. I paid no attention to Gaga until I discovered her jazz phrasing ability in August 2010. While researching to produce a video about that I found interviews that showed Gaga's human side; a kind, caring person with strong traditional family values, dedicated to helping people and making a positive impact on the world. Even though I think her multiple talents as an artist are amazing, I am really a stan of the wonderful person. It may come as a surprise to many here, but you don't have to be someone who was ever bullied, nor do you have to be LGBT, nor do you have to be a big fan of pop music to be a fan of Gaga. People like nice people. People are drawn to kind people. People admire genuine people, such as not just talking about kindness but actually living kindness and leading by example. People like humble people, such as Gaga not bragging about her good deeds around the world but just quietly doing them unnoticed by most. Monsters knew she was a good person when she gave so many courage, strength, and self worth by telling them that no matter what anyone says of does, they should know they are a superstars and she is behind them. Now, finally, many of the public are also beginning to realize the beauty she has within her. I live outside the space time continuum.

Don't need to defend your reason for loving her here hunty...What I meant by my comment was you never know what life will hand you... don't Make Gaga your life make a life for yourself and be the best you. Its what she would want anyway- she has said it countless times (or at least alluded to it) there is nothing wrong with being a fan or loving an amazing artist such as Gaga - she is brilliant - perfection sometimes... but your life should not revolve around an artist- it should revolve around you If All You Ever Do Is Look Down On People, You Won't Be Able To Recognize Your Own Weaknesses. Mills 446
What else is there though if you don't know anyone in real life who likes a particular artist?Yea, I dont care much about chart success or other pop stars. I just ignore the threads about the stuff im not interested in. I do care about critic reviews and ratings though.First thing that comes to mind are social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter - though it's rare for the discussions there amongst fans to be as thorough as the ones which music forums could offer due to the difference of their structures when it comes to posting their thoughts. There, the discussions are rather more limited due to the posting restrictions, whereas here, our discussions could be about anything we'd want to discuss with fellow fans and we can share our thoughts with less restrictions in terms of how much content we can share. I can't think of any other alternative since the only other way to discuss one's favorite artist with other people is through one's inner circle since if someone likes something, then his/her inner circle, including close family relatives and friends (ideally within the same age bracket), tend to like the same things as well, if not extremely likely to influence one another to like the same set of things, or at least close to them. I happen to love pop music, so it happens that most of my friends love it too (or in the case of other genres, at least one would share my liking to them). While some of them are not as a huge fan of Gaga as I am, they're however still aware of her and her music, making it possible then for me to freely discuss Gaga and her music with them together with those who also happen to be fans. Same with other artists. And to my knowledge, not all of them have joined at least one music forum.I guess what I'm trying to say is that not all fans, regardless of age, have the interest and time to sign up for pop music forums due to a lot of reasons: not all fans prefer sharing their thoughts through writing; not all fans are comfortable talking with random people online; not all fans like social media, including forums and blogs, etc. With that said, the audience of an online forum is simply a sample of the demographic of the fandom, and not really an ideal whole representation of the fandom itself. No Angel 128
I feel the same way. As I whole I don't care nearly as much about her as I did in 09-10. I started using GGD when I was like 14 and at almost 21 I'm just into other artists way more now. She could create the best album of her career and I don't think I'd be as into it as I would've been when she just started out, but that's not a bad thing because I'll still support her This is exactly how I feel and It kinda makes me sad. Regardless, I'll still support her because she's one of a few artists I grew with since I was in eighth grade. But now it seems as though I'm not as obsessive as I used to be when it comes to 'stanning' for people. I'm almost 21, too. Is it because we've matured so much since then?! lol
Tokyo Rose 1,475
This forum atmosphere doesn't apeal to them, but Gaga has plenty of older fans.I'm 20 and I do connect to the lingo and vibe of GGD, but I can also see how the immaturity would scare some people away. Rat Boy 43,473
Older users probably get busy with their lives (e.g. work, relationships etc.) and don't have as much time to spend on GGD. "****ing rat" - @Dynamite
Gagaloo911 12,959
I will definitely still be here and stanning Gaga forever. It will never endAgreed. I dont think a poll on this website is necessarily an accurate representation of her actual fans. The younger crowd is more likely to use a site like this. true.
