Luc 4,776
Well SNP is the best chance of us being heard in parliament. I guess half of Scotland is finished with the Westminister establishment which makes me happy I think SNP has done wonders for our country. yes another referendum is possible IF ONLY SNP activists want one then it is down to us to vote for the referendum if the most amount people want one. You do realise we will get independence no matter what it is matter when now. Things are going in favour of the Yes camp. Wow! That is discriminative much. It is like judging Madonna on some of her Instagram posts. You can't judge someone by what they write on some website??? Anyways, I think that you vote based on emotion, nationalism and framings (propaganda). Look at each party, think about what will be the long-term consequences and positives of what each party wants, instead of listening to what you hear in the 3 months before a campaign (populism and framing). Would Scottish independence be better for Scotland and/or the UK as a whole? Is investing in healthcare and social welfare when the economy is doing well, but when there's a large deficit? Isn't it better to invest in infrastructure (conservatives) and education (LibDem)? And how do you actually fight inequality? By taxing income, or by taxing heritage, or by taxing wealth?I think that the conservatives won't really ruin the country like many people say. They are way more social than I expected. I read their manifesto, and they want to increase pensions, remove income taxes for people under 21, invest in infrastructure (mostly trains, highways and bicycle paths), increase the taxless bracket to 12800 pounds and lower corporate taxes. The only bad things imo are the referendum on EU membership (hoping the UK will vote yes: export to the UK is responsible for 140k full time jobs in my country - the Netherlands), privatizations in healthcare, cuts on education, removal of heritage/wealth taxes, lack of regulation in financial sector and lack of green subsidies. Michael 533
Leavin this video here. Cam'ron for Cameron, got it? Congrats for his supporters, I guess. I heard he is not popular tho, so might be a surprise for him and them. I'd prefer Cam'ron for PM.
StrawberryBlond 15,569
Well SNP is the best chance of us being heard in parliament. It is like judging Madonna on some of her Instagram posts. You can't judge someone by what they write on some websiteI don't know where you get your sense of presumptuousness from. Yes supporters were so sure we were going to get independence last time and it didn't happen. So what makes you so certain in the future? Meanwhile, No voters were frightened independence was going to happen and it didn't. Sometimes, being humble works to your advantage. Getting your hopes up too high isn't good for you, neither is pinning all your hopes on something happening. This way, when the opposite happens, you'll always going to think it's the worst possible decision and we're all doomed. You won't be satisified unless it's exactly what you want and that's not a healthy way to live. It is this attitude that is turning people away from supporting the SNP.No, it's not discriminative, you're meant to judge politicians strictly. You can't possibly think a singer's stupid ramblings online is on the same level as a politician's. If a politician says inappropriate things online, they can lose the vote. A politician cannot be swearing and being nasty online or at events - it goes against the principles of the job and isn't professional. You don't see Cameron, Miliband and Clegg using the c-word on Twitter or saying that it took every fibre of their being not to headbutt their opponents at an event. Don't even try to defend that behaviour. As some people said regarding Mhairi's win, she could have been a monkey with a badge on and SNP supporters would have voted for her. SNP supporters are voting for the party and aren't caring about the credentials of individual candidates and I don't think they know enough about the nutters they're voting for. Better Day 5,766
3 months after the election. Scotland still hasn't got the powers it was promised. The bill is still in the commons but it is the watered down version of what we were promisedLabour is in dire straits.SNP are being a strong opposition.the tories, as predicted, are being more brutal without the Lib Dems. They need to go. Together You And I!
craig 680
Don't your think the SNP actually helped the Tories win a majority?. Because everyone was predicting a Labour minority propped up by the SNP, and some English preferred stability to that mess. Who wants separatists to have their fingers on the levers of power? It's like in Canada, the majority of Quebeckers voted for the separatist Bloc Quebecois from 1993-2011, and all it ensured was that those MPs never formed part of any government. At one point the two left-centre parties were contemplating a coalition with the separatist bloc, but the backlash in English Canada convinced the Liberals to back down (leaving the Canadian Tories to rule two years in minority and then win a majority in 2011). I voted for the SNP, not for independence for a better Scotland. All Cameron did during the campaign was scaremonger the English into voting for them. I think the SNP and Labour coalition could of done Britain wonders Together You And I!

EDIT: mess i read it wrong But these show how bad the party is and is their main focus, the good points are just there to make the bad ones seem less bad tbh
hmm 979
please tell me how these things are good? He said they were bad things though Although, it's a very long list of bad points that basically invalidates or cancels out whatever good points they were going to bring. The budget proves that the conservatives really aren't interested in aiding the working class and the IFS seem to agree with that.

I read it wrong But yeah all they are interested in is the upper class, rich businessmen and elderly because that's who gives them votes 12 billion raised from cuts to the benefits to the working class and just 6 billion raised from cracking down on tax avoidance (which is worth a LOT more) shows where there interests lie
Better Day 5,766
I think David Cameron and his cabinet needs to go. What they are doing to innocent poor people, diabled, children is just disgraceful. He should be ashamed of himself. What I think is Westminister needs to be reformed big time. A better voting system. I mean 36% of people voted for the Tories. 50% of Scotland voted for SNP and ended up with 56 out of 59 seats. 3 million votes for UKIP and 1 seat (I am happy with that but that is another debate). I mean if we had proportional represention we would have more reliable government. About coalitions, the two biggest parties would join and make a majority. The others would have a say but not that much. Together You And I!

HighwayGuy 1,498
WhatsApp and iMessage could be banned under new surveillance planshttp://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/whatsapp-and-snapchat-could-be-banned-under-new-surveillance-plans-9973035.html Another example of why the Tories are such a messThe only positive point is if they really do ban messaging services they will become VERY unpopular and there will be a backlash against them if it happens
Luc 4,776
In my opinion Tories aren't that bad... they profit mostly the working poor. They do make the debt way too big though. They shouldn't lower taxes when cutting on healthcare, welfare and education because that's immoral.
