Branson 4
A lot of Radio Stations are pulling Die Young in light of the Newtown shootings; Kesha then tweeted she now realized that it's "inappropriate" and also tweeted (then deleted the tweet) that she had a problem with Die Young and was "forced to sing it" Oh I know what's happening :toofloppy: I should of put something along the lines of "Why is this happening??" I see why they're doing though. I just hope it doesn't ruin the era.
zack 15
Oh god this is awful, her mother even rt'ed a fan saying "I hate Dr. Luke". But I disagree with the 'forced to sing this' thing, sayings like "live fast die young" are really popular, it's her life philosophy, and there's nothing bad about, it was just bad timing. I agree that releasing Love Into The Light now would be a smart move

display name 4,360
The point is that she apologized. I think that is what most people will gather from this in the long run, that she did not intend to offend anyone. There might be some issue between Ke$ha and Dr. Luke now, but I think the general public will be fine with Ke$ha.

ALX 170
She shouldn't have apologized. She has nothing to be sorry for. The song was written, recorded, released, and promoted before all of this

Pips 0
Side note- they pulled die young, but no one ever had a problem with pumped up kicks ever......
ALX 170
Side note- they pulled die young, but no one ever had a problem with pumped up kicks ever...... To be fair, no one knew what they were saying in that song. I feel like Ke$ha actually attracted more attention to the lyrics by tweeting about it
Mister G 10,271
Side note- they pulled die young, but no one ever had a problem with pumped up kicks ever...... No one could really understand the lyrics to Pumped Up Kicks and not many people knew what it was referring to until some time after the song was released. Ke$ha would be the one to attract more attention because the tragedy occurred a few months after the song was released, where as with Foster The People their song was about an incident that happened well over 10 years ago. Plus she has more of a following than Foster The People (no offense to them of course).
zack 15
I think the best thing that can be done now is rush the release of the next single, so people can 'forget' Die Young and stop associating her to the tragedy
