Is Gaga able to write another super hit song?

Sure, but truthfully I think my favorite stuff is the ones that aren't super hits or aren't even released as singles.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I think it's hard for anyone to write a "super hit" because most artists have no idea how well a song will do or if it will even be single. I mean, I'm sure her objective is to always write good, catchy material, but she seems to write what she feels. The moment she starts trying to intentionally write a hit is the moment her career will officially die.

Now will she have another super hit single in the future? Well, I'm sure at some point she will.

Telephone sold 3,000,000 in US

Applause will be soon a 3x platinum hit (like Blank Space), so yeah it is a super hit

Last time I checked the 37th best selling song of the year in the US in 2013 was not a "super hit" :koons:

Applause was commercially successful, yes, but it was not a "super hit".

The charts disagree :koons:

G.U.Y. , a typical "Gaga" song in the same standards as Poker Face, very catchy, awesome play on words and message. -> Lack of promo, thank you Interscope

Marry The Night, one of Gaga's best songs lyrically and a fan-favorite. Gaga wanted it to be the lead single. Why did it fail? -> Lack of radio plays and promo, thank you management and Interscope

I'm not a Little Chartster but honestly, I just think you did not understand what I said earlier.

Applause was released at the end of 2013… are you serious?

14 weeks in the top 10 (peak, #4)

The video has over 210,000,000 and +1,000,000 likes

It was featured in MANY talent shows and covered several times on youtube (The Voice kids one has 14,000,000 views), and has a lot of parodies (Bart Baker, Barely Political, Shane…. to name a few)

Sold 3,000,000 in US soon, 5,000,000WW. Yes, Applause was a super hit, not a smash a la Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance or Born This Way but a super hit  (like Telephone, Paparazzi, LoveGame, The Edge Of Glory…)

It was released mid-2013, the same time as Roar, which managed to be the 10th best selling song that year. Roar would be called a superhit.

And all those other factors, as lovely as they are, don't really equate to "super hit" status. Can't Remember To Forget You has over 500 million views on YT and it would not be called a "super hit".

And stop with this "3 million soon", it's sold 2.58 million copies in the US. For all we know it might never reach 3 million copies. And seriously, Paparazzi and LoveGame, superhits? Hits maybe, but in no way "super".

Yes Applause was a hit, but lets not blow it's success out of the water. And remember...

Applause was a "super hit"

Here are some exampels of real super hits of the recent time:

Poker Face, Single Ladies, Just Dance, Umbrella, Rolling In The Deep, Bad Romance, We Found Love, Roar, Teenage Dream, I Gotta Feeling, Call Me Maybe, Tik Tok, Just the Way You Are, Apologize, Dark Horse, Uptown Funk, Royals

Applause was a hit. But not a smash hit like these.
