I understand she thinks it's cool to curse but it's a bit much at times...

I don't think she think's it's "cool".  I think she's just a ****in new yorker.

Not really, only when it is done excessively and seems a bit forced- like maybe some parts of the sting performance or her What's up? cover do I not really feel it.

she definitely over-sings a lot. i wouldn't call it shouting, i would call it belting too excessively.. it makes for a good performance, but a lot of the time, it makes it not as listenable and more obnoxious.

Doesn't bother me at all..

And I think your example (her performance of You've Got A Friend) is totally wrong, because there was like 0 shouting in it. Pure emotion, pure voice and correct notes.. You can see the face of the woman who actually wrote the song, how stunned she was and everyone else because Gaga KILLED IT!

The one I can single out is he performance of "What's Up" during artRAVE, it was very raw and she shouted on some parts BUT only because of what that song and those lyrics represented = her situation back then in her career so yeah, I would say Gaga knows what she's doing. If one thing people can't criticise her, it's her ability to sing

I hope she taking care at it, it sounds sometimes like shouting when she sings high.

But she can also sing high in a normal way, like on the Oscars for example - it sounded so beautiful and she has not shouted at all.

I think she does it on purpose :laughga: Maybe it's because I'm drunk :sis:  Seriously tho, she wants to be different, not just the beautiful popstar like Taylor or Katy!

It doesn't annoy me as much as when she tells the crowd what to do.

I could never be as good of a singer/performer as Gaga.

It's one of my favourite things about Gaga and a huge part of how I became a lil monster back in 2009/10!

I agree the yelling can sometimes be a bit much, like in Bang Bang. However 90% of the time I think it compliments a lot of her songs and sounds great. Best examples I can think of is Teeth. TEOG, and You and I.

I personally call it "gaga growls" when she rumbles her voice like in You and I when she sings  "BABY/NEBRASKA ID RATHER DIE, WITHOUT YOU AND IIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiIIiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIII" I ****ing love it.

The growls and yelling at the end of Teeth literally makes the song. "SHOW ME YOUR TEETH, TEETH.. TEETH, TEETH! HAAAAOOOOW! OH! *my religion is you"

And at the end of I Won't Dance (the most underrated song of C2C) she belts "I Won't Dance" with Tony and it sounds great.

She sometimes adds in growls and yells in her live performances too, my favourite example is Princess Die in Paris, as she is saying "So bob your head for another dead blonde whose real prince is in heaven, she just wants to sleep" she gets louder and louder and more intense and then the chorus comes again and she nails it.

I just appreciate how much emotion and effort she puts into her music and performances.
