Why did the media turn on Gaga?

Back then it seemed like she was invincible and that she was prepared.... but she clearly wasn't. I think 2013 broke Gaga. She's not the same.

I think it broke her temporarily. It changed her, but that doesn't have to lead to a bad outcome. As human beings, we often learn more from our failures than from our successes. We experience growth when we struggle.

Yup. Doing C2C and all these new projects seem to be making her happy. I feel like her next era will be clean and run smoothly

i'm thankful she pulled through, i think she could've easily joined the 27 club because of it all, i appreciate her talent & music now more than ever and i get annoyed by fans trying to tell her who to work with, what songs to make & write bc idc anymore.

i think she's stronger & now that it's over the whole ARTFLOP stuff won't happen to her on such a bad scale ever again

:duck: That would've been extreme. I understan that she was broken, but she's a multi-millionaire with millions of adoring fans. She's not the first or the last be torn down by the media, so for her to have taken her life would've been extremely over-the-top imo.

It's science, bitch

not really because she had a lot more going on that runs deeper than fans & money\

her wellbeing & mental health > any fan or anything concerning money.

Kurt Cobain killed himself (allegedly) because of his fame not because of hatred towards him, but because of the disrespect towards his art & lack of privacy. So her reasons would have been valid.

And if you watched the Robert Wilson documentary interview he says she was obsessed with death & worried about joining the 27 club at the time, because of all the crap that was happening in her life beyond money & fame, hence why all her emotions exploded when working with him

She is doing art 'she' wants to do... Not what she is told to do...so no stress to perform.

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true

You all may not agree with what I'm about to say, but I need to voice my opinion. I believe that near the end of the Born This Way era, during the early conception/recording of ARTPOP/before the hip-break, Gaga became a bit too "full of herself" and developed an ego. If you go back and re-watch some of the interviews, especially during the launch of her fragrance, you can see that she carried herself as this stuck up avant garde diva that could do no wrong. I think people began to notice that.

Then, once her injury happened and she fell off the grid, I believe that her marijuana addiction grew to a dangerous point. Combine that with pills and a bad case of depression and you literally have a walking train wreck. That's when the label/management stepped in, due to paranoi, and completely shifted the direction of the album. Even once she was healed and released Applause, she was kind of behind on the completion of a 2 year album.

I think the label wanted her to regress rather expand and the album ended up becoming a water downed version "The Fame" tbh. Not to imply that the records gems were bad songs, I'm just talking about the record as a body of work. The public was over the goofy outfits and s-x/fame songs. They wanted something different and they got spoon fed an EDM regurgitation of her past work. It was tired.

THE BASIC GIST OF WHAT IM SAYING: So  basically the public last saw Gaga overexposed and rather pretentious, only to witness her " huge comeback" with a single about living for the applause and an album full of raunchy techno tracks.

True. I thought you meant that the media tearing her down would've been the direct cause, but she was going through a lot more than that at the time.

Because she's an easy target: a beautiful woman who is confident and outspoken about her talent, her exhibitionism, and her unusual perspectives about her art.

There are many people around the world who are looking for a reason, any reason, to despise her. And that's what sells. So the second that her sales dip, of course most publications would jump on the opportunity.

she played a persona that was amplified by smoking pot constantly that's how her attitude was that way. she even said so herself in interviews in early 2014 she wasn't herself because her overexposure was getting on top of her.

I personally enjoyed her attitude then, because it was different to her regular attitude, it was refreshing to see her more human

I kind of liked seeing her b---hy side too. Lol. I'm more or less going off what I hear the general public say. Aka, people in my High School.
