Taylor Swift reveals her mom has been diagnosed with cancer

my mum recently passed away from cancer, so it hurts to see when people get diagnosed. i've seen people giving taylor **** because she's famous and 'there are so many other people who have cancer', but in reality, it affects us all, and a person's degree of fame has nothing to do with how much of a physical and emotional strain cancer has on a family.

around 1 in 2 people develop cancer these days, it's frightening. i hope to work in the health & medical field someday, i'm sick of seeing everyone suffering due to cancer/heart disease/diabetes/all modern diseases… i don't think i'll die at peace without contributing to the developing field of disease prevention and treatment. 

 

so sad, but hoping that everything turns out ok.

Oh dear  I hope that she gets the help she needs and gets better quickly. Cancer is such a horrible illness and nobody is safe from it, rich or poor, black or white, young or old.
