GAGA101 93
Miley Cyrus' 15-year-old sis stars in a new ad for PETA that is sure to turn some heads. The graphic photo features the teen as the carcass of an animal used in a classroom science examination. Noah also said in a statement to PETA, "Because I love all animals so much, people should realize they don't have to cut into something to learn about it. You should ask your teacher for other humane alternatives...You'll learn so much more off of the computer. If you have the other option, why not take it?" According to PETA, more than 10 million animals are dissected in secondary schools and college science classes every year. "Most of them come from biological supply houses that sell cats obtained from animal shelters, fetal piglets cut from the wombs of pigs killed in slaughterhouses, and frogs who are taken from the wild—a practice that wreaks havoc on local ecosystems," the animal rights organization says. Cody Draco 2,531
I love this ad so much. Edit: I do understand the importance of dissecting animals, I just feel like this ad was done extremely well.
codymonster 8,370
PETA is so ****ing stupid. The animals are dead already, and that's utter bull**** saying that "you don't need to cut into something to learn about it." Actually, yes you do. I'm taking Biology in University, and the only way you can understand how it works, and how it looks, is through a hands on fashion. If doctors did not dissect and explore dead people/animals in training, how the hell would surgeries work It's stupid to take a stand on something that literally saves peoples' lives, and animals', on the daily and does no harm to the animal dissected upon. If they kill the animals FOR the dissection, then obviously its awful. But that does not happen in schools/universities anymore
Nino 12
If she really loves animals she should read up on peta before she models for them
xoxo cupcakke 4,781
But the question is, does Noah eat meat because I'm sure she could find some humane way to eat a steak or a porkchop I see you, Noah. I'm not blind

Haroon 49,685
You learn more by doing than by reading If the animals aren't killed for dissections and they use already dead animals then I don't see the problem If animals are being killed for dissections then yeah that's not okay

If they kill the animals FOR the dissection, then obviously its awful. But that does not happen in schools/universities anymore Yes it does. There are certain things you can't do with a preserved specimen. A lot of the animals come from animal shelters that had to euthanize them. The fetal pigs come from the meat industry (which is awful in and of itself). The rest of them are killed for dissections. Dissecting a frog hasn't saved any lives and is generally a waste of time. I don't see any reason to stop using those animals for something as ba--l as a "teaching" exercise. I learned nothing from them, except that anatomy textbooks aren't lying. Nicole 1,809
Intentions are well but if Noah was really set on becoming a supporter or activist for animals, there are many other organisations for animals that are a lot better then PETA.
Eros92 2,496
I hated dissection in High School, we had to do cats and pigs and I refused both.
LoveandMagic 1,731
I appreciate her efforts (and this is the first PETA ad I've seen that didn't have just a bunch of nude s-xy 20-30 something holding each other provocatively or pouting on a billboard), but PETA is not an organization I support. I find them too shady. I would much rather give my efforts to ASPCA personally or assist in building a shelter. I think it's great she has found a cause she is passionate about, though. Personally, I would rather donate my efforts toward and organization that builds shelters and assists in aiding efforts to give stray/abandoned/abused animals a good home and needed medical care, as well as try to educate people on the proper way to take care of certain breeds of animals. The vet that I go to has a donation box that goes toward finding homes for strays, spay or neutering (if that is the new owners wishes) the animal, giving the animals all their shots, and providing the new owners with a years supply of food for the animal. I also have a friend who creates free pamplets with tips for first time pet owners. People and places like that would benefit more I think from a person's time and money donations. By the way lot of pet neglect comes because a person might be ignorant about proper ways to care for the animal, or something may come up in which the animal needs expensive medical care (just getting the animal routine shots and checkups can be very costly). Some pets are horribly abused and a new owner desperately wants to adopt them but finds difficulty providing for them or maybe doesn't know what the animal needs. I wish we had more educational programs like that. It would be great if someone like her would spread awareness about an issue like that. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
