Mills 446
I'd say they're both equally important, which also means that neither one or the other is more important in terms of what should be the priority of an artist in general, and, in this case, of Gaga. Her next album may get all the praises to the heavens by the critics and may sell more than her last two studio albums did - but if I, as a fan of her, wouldn't like the album itself, then everything the media may say (regarding its critical acclaim or its commercial triumph) would be useless to me. So I guess you can say that I prefer her to make the best album she can do. The better album she delivers, the more likelihood I'd love the album, and whatever follows next (in the form of reaction by others) will be merely secondary, if not just a bonus. Whispering 18,865
Critical acclaim isn't going to feed Asia.Gaga is a multi-millionaire, several times over. She isn't going to have to ever worry about feeding herself or her dog.
2007 5,291
Definitely 100% Commercial Success, because the critics are like pigs who'll follow the flow of hype & success of the product (Beyoncé last album for example), because if they slammed it when it's was successful and loved by the GP then the critics FAILED at their job in that point, because their job is standing on reflecting 'what the people will love & like' and so as I said if then gave it a neg review when it was received positively by the people, they failed, at the end the reviewers are nothing but people giving their opinion. That's how I see it.

Shaney 5,515
I would like Gaga to have more commercial success than critical acclaim, who cares what anyone else says, I think that everything Gaga puts out is great. I want to see the music that I love loved by everyone else. It's a great feeling. I don't want Gaga to be popular so I can tweet and flamebait other fanbases like other queens here just love to do. and plus, it makes Gaga happy to have her work be successful. and this thread is making it out to seem like commercial success cannot come with critical acclaim
SweetEscape 654
neither, i'd prefer fans to shut the **** up & just appreciate her talent for once instead of craving bragging rights:applause:
