hmm 979
I see what u mean, but in 92s was more than 20 years ago and even if then there was the age talk right now it is reality. The fall on the Brit's was pure example of that. Even if u blame it that is designer's fault, still why it hasn't happen before. See her Ghosttown performance with Taylor that was way more enjoyable and appropriate for her age. And right now it's not so much about what society thinks but her health becasuse no matter how ambitious she is or that she doesn't make sompromise, she can't beat her own body's boundaries and it's matter of time before another situation like the Brits happen. The fall at the Brits had nothing to do with her age though; any artist would have feel had they been pulled like that. The problem was simply down to not getting the cape untied in time - Madonna could definitely do spectacle in 2012 so I doubt it's fallen apart that badly in just 3 years; she's 57 - sure it's not super young but it's not OAP like some people like to present it. Slayer 9,227
I honestly don't think she would care about reinventing the game or coming up with a new plan at this point. She's got enough fans, experience, acclaim and money to withstand a flop album. The sales aren't embarrassing in this day and age. Theyre getting to be pretty standard. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Jjang 2,262
The problem with Madonna is that she doesn't follow her age and so she doesn't let her music experience that growth as well. Instead she follows success, trends and her lust for #1s. She is the Queen of Pop and she is almost 60. She will either make an interesting step to music that supports her career at this later point or she will keep embarassing herself by acting like Arianna Grande. As much as I appreciate a lot of Madonna's career it is so obvious to me that most of her success for so many dacades came from the fact that she was and always is thrusty for success. What made her stay relevant for so many decdes now holds her back, I feel that she has no depth, she just uses ''heavy'' music statements that have no real background for shallow reasons.throughout her entire career? more like 2008 onwards. Jeffrey_This_Way 68
People still don't get it.....From the moment she rolled around the stage in like a virgin, people called her pathetic and desperate. They criticized her for just trying to shock and cause controversy with like a prayer and burning crosses. She was called a talentless W***e and crucified by the press during the s-x book era. She doesn't have any shame and isn't going to start now! She gives no F**KS......that is her gig. If you are only in your 20's I don't really expect you to get it because you really weren't around to experience the impact at the time. This so much! I was there at the beginning, I remember watching the "Like a Virgin" performance on the VMAs way back then and was shocked/slayed with the rest of the world. She is still being Madonna, its public opinion that waxes and wanes.
LoveandMagic 1,731
I agree with the OP and there are a lot of good points made here by the other posters. I think it comes down to what Madonna's intent is to what her strategy should be. Like others have said, she's secured her legacy, so she doesn't really have to "fight" to be remembered as one of the longstanding Queens of Pop. She has the awards and the iconic imagery and fashions. But does she really care deeply about chart success? Or does she care more about artistry or reinvention? Or both? I can never quite figure out her intent (at least lately), but with her money and legacy she should be doing exactly what she wants to do right now. She in in the enviable position of having total control with her career. If she is happy with Rebel Heart and her performances in this era, that's great. If she is disappointed because she didn't dazzle the world with this particular album, then a change in material (and possibly management - no more leaks!) would be a good goal. Madonna is the Queen of Reinvention. If she wanted to, she could reinvent herself. I would love to see something really fresh (and not just for Madonna) to come from her in the near future. I definitely think she has it in her, but it is ultimately her choice. If she just wants to make fun music and have killer tours, that great too. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

iloveit123 130
I want her to release a compilation album like "Something To Remember" part 2 next, do a greatest hits tour, and then start to call it a day on releasing new music. Maybe start writing some songs (especially the thoughtful ones) for new artists... It would have been amazing to hear some of the "heart" songs on RH done by other artists. Most of the rebel ones can go in the trash. And this isn't just because she is "old"... but Madonna isn't able to translate her message that easily to the general public anymore... and she doesn't exactly have the voice to draw people in either... so this is what I want her to do now.And please stop getting DJ's to produce your music if you do want to craft any new music... but like I said, I want Something to Remember part 2 next.... compilation albums with some new tracks don't have the same expectation/pressure for sales anyway. djBuffoon 12,115
Honestly, I wish she would move away from the early-2010s bag of tricks, and re-discover where her musical interests lie.The songs of Rebel Heart aren't bad, but the production surrounding them comes off like Gaga and Rihanna simultaneously, except not as visceral or three-dimensional. hmm 979
She should retire. Retire Not when she hasn't yet done her farewell tour If she can get the two most successful solo tours of all time on normal tours, imagine how well a tour promoted as being greatest hits/farewell tour could do - OT: I'd love if she went back to using less producers for a more consistent sound; the next ROL-Music-AL trio sounds good to me
